    Walmart is Evil

    They're only out to get consumers . . .

I love Wal-Mart, I buy almost all of my non-perishables there now. I save a ton of money too... I can fill a cupboard with canned food items for $25-30. The only downside to Wal-Mart is they don't have sales, so I'll swing by a regular grocery store once a week exclusively for sales and perishables like fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and deeply discounted non-perishables.

Walmart is not legally allowed to set up shop in New York City because they refuse to play by our rules. I love to go there when I go out of state. We do have a Target, not quite the same...

Not really the place for this. Please kindly make your way to the introductions section; although it is not mandatory, we tend to suggest that you introduce yourself first.

    BTW, welcome to WAB.

We have the super Walmarts and the super Targets. I much prefer Target. For whatever reason, here in the Tampa area, Walmarts are real trashy! Every Walmart I've been to here, the floors aren't that clean. The aisles are too close together. And, unlike Target, where the employees are constantly putting things back on shelves and racks, items at Walmart are just kind of strewn around!

I usually look at the sale flyers we get in the Sunday paper. Most times they are about the same, but Walmart can be a little "cheaper" on some things.

When I was looking for a calculator for Ashley, the price was the same for both stores for the same calculator. Food prices are pretty much the same. The Walmart is a little further away and Target is just down the street, so I guess I'm saving money on gas!

Nope, it's a Minnesota company. It's HQ is just a few miles away from where I live.

I've been to Sam's Club too... but I find it's a rather limited selection and alot of it's junk food.

I mainly get staples (flour, rice, oil, toilet paper, spices, light bulbs etc) and dog food (less than $20 for a 55 pound bag I think) from Sam's. They do have a bit of junk food/candy stuff, but I think that is for people who own vending machines/stop-and-shop places mainly. I don't normally get that sort of stuff... Sometimes they have a decent deal in the butcher shop, but you have to look around for the deals and resist the impluse buy frozen-pizza type stuff (I make my own home-made frozen pizzas that are far better quality, and cost me probably less than $2 per 14" pizza)... I also bought a pretty cheap freezer to keep all the stuff I make/buy there too... I suppose I could go to CostCo instead of Sam's, but I already know my way around the Sam's...

I know this is a 'WalMart' is evul thread, but I think Sam's is still WalMart.

I'd always heard that Target was a French-based company. Huh.

I hate Wal-Mart. their products are crappy

When I first came to the US, they were all we could afford. But the products are serious BS. Can you imagine a ladle melting while stirring the pot, after about a year's worth of use?

Heh, there's plenty of bargains to be found. Toiletries, electronics, non-perishables, and many other products can be found at a good discount. Of course, there are plenty of poorer quality products such as kitchenwares that are stocked.
