I hope a certain lady out in Wisconsin and everyone else there is ok , after seeing homes being washed away and with no warnings of the flooding ?

Apparently there has been a tad of rain falling in Wisconsin in the last day or two. We watched as a house floating away(hope they were insured). I too thought of Debbie, holding back the tide, akin to King Canute. Unlike Canute she will have a glass in hand shouting "bring it on")

I've lots of mud but in my part of the state all is well. The elevation is too high and the three rivers closest are still well confined. Forecast is for rain the rest of the week.

NOT THE TOMMY BARTLETT WATER SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, that's kind of a bummer, and at the same time showcases the casual power of nature as compared to the efforts of man.

Anytime I hear anything about Tommy Bartlett or the Wisconsin Dells it brings forth this: Some fella I was engaged to way back when during the "lost years" wanted to go to the Dells for the honeymoon. Well, not want but he was extremely insistent to the point of being weird. I truly believe it was the breaking point in the relationship and needless to say we never got to the alter. He did end up rebounding and taking that wife to the Dells, marriage lasted less than 6 months.

Us here in NY would be happy to take some of that rain as we are on day 4 of a heatwave. Over 100 yesterday probably 90 something today. Cool us down Wisconsin send some of that rain over here.

CA can use some rain. Ahnold declared water emergency since 80% of the state's water is diverted for farm use and we can't build reservoir because it might disrupt the napping pattern of some endangered fish.

You Hollywood rich kids import all your water from Europe in the form of a bottle so it's not like it makes much of a difference!

Yeah but I need water to wash my car and feed the lawn.

    My Spring Creeks!!!

To hell w/ Tommy Bartlett. What about the finest hidden limestone spring creeks in the midwest...maybe the nation? My little brookies and browns are suffering immensely in this calamity.

A tragedy of epic proportions. Bad season for skeeters too.

My dog has uncovered a little rabbit warren/den/burrow under one of my hostas along the back of the house.

At first I was going to let him dig them out and kill 'em, then I realized he's not trying to kill, he's trying to play, and I'm tired of losing hostas, and I'd end up having to kill 'em anyway.

And they're pretty cute. And this neighborhood is so lousy with the critters already that a few more won't matter.

Plus, cats and 'coons gotta eat too.

So I've fenced them off a little and will let nature (other than my goofy dog) take its course.

Oh no! Not the Dells! The most beautiful part of the state.

And here we are in Southern California to get away from the heavy rainfalls of Wisconsin and now suffering a drought.

Can't build a new bridge across the St. Croix river for the past 15 years now thanks to the Sierra Club and some stupid mussel or shellfish or some other blasted thing. Quite obviously these people have never tried to go from Wisconsin to Minnesota via Stillwater on the existing bridge during rush hour
