Indeed, the BBC is well-known here as well for an excellent standard of journalism and it was saddening to see this happen, clearly serious questions need to be asked of the management and the directors of the shows in question.
Seen as we in Britain have to purchase a compulsary TV licence just for the BBC,I expect,No demand that the service given is first class and that they have the upmost integrity at all times. Is this to much to ask? After recent events it would seem so.
Last week the BBC implied that the queen had stormed out of a photo shoot,I myself saw this story in newspapers from all over the globe,And at the time i was quite unfair on the queen,I remember thinking to myself how snobbish she had been,Then it turns out that the BBC had doctored the tape and edited it to look that way,In fact the queen had done no such thing.Totally unacceptable behaviour and i expect better from them,Espeically as we the licence payer fund this garbage id expect this carry on from some sleazy satellite channel,Maybe,What are they playing at.
As if that wasnt enough it now emerges that something far worse has occured within the BBC,Six shows, including charity bonanzas Comic Relief and Sports Relief, had deceived viewers by using fake contestants to win viewer or listener phone-ins.Also children In Need producer Donald Macinnes is believed to have been told to stay at home after the show faked a competition winner two years ago. This is really bad in my books,It shows a total lack of respect for the viewers,They seem quite happy to fleece us out of our hard earned cash,But now this has gone public will anyone be held responsible?I personally feel that people will lose there jobs but it wont be anyone important it will more than likely be staff from the bottom of the pile,Who will make nice scapegoats so the fat cats can get even fatter though its clear they are responsible for these dispicable acts.

Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative.

Well, I didn't read any of that because of the lack of paragraphs, but I would guess that if you are looking to criticize a state-owned leftist propaganda outlet that is the friend of enemies of the West and steeped in crookedness and cronyism, the BBC is a fine target.

The BBC was a splendid organisation but has grown exponentially by moving into local radio stations and the standard has come down ever since. Many of their problems can be traced to public funding and the maladministration of the top level executives. They were vociferous in their criticisms of the conservative governments and as a reward have since been packed with known Labour supporters. Tonys cronies indeed. What was undoubtably a beacon of excellence in broadcasting has degenerated into an overstaffed organisation with lowering standards. That said, when it sticks with what it does best, the quality of its work towers above everyone else. Look at American TV. If that tripe was fed to the Gitmo prisoners it would fall foul of the Geneva convention!

Every weekday at 10:30 p.m. the local public t.v. station broadcasts BBC World News, and I think its handsdown much better than any world news you'll find on network American t.v.
Sometimes I catch an interesting live BBC radio program called BBC World Service at about 2 a.m. which covers news, case studies, and interviews interesting people. It's broadcast on National Public Radio (91.1), and it usually delays sleep till 4.
Every news channel in the world is biased in some way or other.
Silly lawsuits aside, I think it's a vapid enough phrase, (Fair, yes, balanced, well, yeah, but not 50-50, which is what I think they mean to imply), if silly. I like the "We report, you decide" better.
And yeah, FOX News leans right. Everyone knows it and all the FOXnews people will wear that openly on their sleeves. Contrast that with all the other major networks that claim to be unbiased. It's a joke.

Well, one recent show was all about the monster trucks and earthmovers used in open pit mines; how they're built; what their capabilities are; and how they are operated.
Our History Channel has been running computer recreations of fighter aircraft in dogfights.
I'll mention one installment because it was very interesting and news to me. The German air force nearthe end of the war had practically no fighters left with which to engage Allied bombers. One day a German pilot happened to stray into a large formation of Allied bombers and flew in and around them uncontested because the machine gunners in the bombwe were afraid they'd hit their own planes. After that the German air force came up with a plan to ram Allied bombers in flight. It was similar to the Japanese Kamakazi concept except the cockpit canopies wouldn't be welded shut. The German pilots were expected to eject after ramming a bomber. There were interviews with 2 ex-German pilots who had rammed bombers and parachuted to safety, some excellent computer recreations of the tactics they used to get into position, and stories of how the bomber crews fared afterwards. One Liberator made it back with half its tail torn off, but a B-26 broke up.
Most of American TV is junk IMO, but not all.![]()
