Yes, I'd like to see a poll of American and Canadian hotels and see who THEY say are the worst and best tourists. As I said when I started this thread, the poll was restricted only to European hotels.

As for ignorance of tourists of any country, that is not surprising. Some people have enough trouble fitting in with the varied philosophies, religions and life styles of their own country. To add on an in-depth training prior to travel of other countries may take up too much time. And how would you work in pop quizzes during such training?

Many tourists go to those countries so they can learn something about them in a more realistic setting than a classroom or do-it-yourself book.

Also, I wonder if the poll separated Vacation type sight seers from people there on job related trips? I have only been to two foreign countries on pleasure trips but all the others were for inspecting Navy ships. Only in Canada did I not feel like a fish out of water.
