Swedish Hell's Angels found with tank gun

    Wow...
Swedish Hell's Angels found with tank gun

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 11 (UPI) -- A police raid on a Hell's Angels club in Stockholm, Sweden, found that the biker gang had a tank gun in its possession.

The Swedish-made military-grade weapon was found during Saturday's raid at the group's headquarters in the Ulvsunda region of Stockholm, but The Local said no ammunition was found.

The tank gun was said to be of a type no longer used by the Swedish Army.

The raid, which included nearly 40 officers, occurred after officials received a tip that illegal drugs were present at the motorcycle gang's anniversary party.

The Local reported in addition to the 264-pound tank gun, an unspecified amount of drugs were found by on the premises.

    Duke,

Believe it or not, this is not a first. A few years back a war between two Danish outlaw biker gangs escalated to the point that one used an AT weapon against the clubhouse of another. I think at least one biker was killed.

At the time (mid-90s) it was believed that these gangs were getting hold of cheap weapons from former Warsaw Pact nations.

Looks like they've diversified their sources.

Agreed this is certainly not the first. HA has spread to many different countries and if you look at their past you will find many circumstances where they are both heavily armed and the buildings quited fortified.

the same incident when AT-4 (?) was used , it was reported that a many people survived due an error in shooters calculations. they had modified it ´´ghetto-style´´ by sawing off part of the tube....

Sadly it's actually not surprising, I heard there was once a chinese weapons manufacturer that was willing to sell all kinds of weapons, including a tank to a American gang.

    Dreadnought,

Looks like my info was a bit off. Seem that AT weapons were quite popular during the mid-1990s, though apparently not as effective as you might think. The link below tells the whole crazy story. So much for sedate Scandanavia.

The Biker War petered out when HA and the Bandidoes, came to an agreement on “spheres of interest”. But the police forces up here still keep a wary eye on their activities, and their current worry is the connections that HA is forging with the Russian underworld, and how it might affect things here in Scandinavia.

The gun was actually a present from the Russian HA.

Re: Antitank gun. I seem to recall a gang with political ties using an AT weapon to blast open a bank in one of the western US states in the '60's or '70's. Maybe in Phoenix? I can't remember the exact affiliation that was accused...Minutemen or JBS or somebody. I seem to recall it was a "fundraising event". I definitely remember seeing a Life magazine photo of the weapon mounted in the door of a van. It's probably not a great idea for Hell's Angels to have one. You really don't want somebody cranked really paranoid on meth driving around with one. Now, I wouldn't mind having one to shoot out at the sandpit with the boys....
