I don't see the picture, and the Russian media seems to be pretty quiet about it. Though yesterday there was an article that a Georgian MVD unit threatened a Russian peace-keeping batallion in the region, and was disarmed and arrested by the peace-keepers.

There we go. Found a little on Interfax.
Saakashvili tells peacekeepers' commander to leave Georgia TBILISI. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Russian peacekeepers have released the Georgian police officers they detained in the Abkhaz conflict zone, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said in a telephone interview with the Rustavi-2 television channel. He said he visited the village of Ganmukhuri where the incident happened. At the meeting with the peacekeepers in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone Saakashvili called Sergei Chaban, the Russian Peacekeepers Commander, "persona non grata in Georgia" and demanded that he leave the country as soon as possible. "Sukhumi is the same Georgia as Ganmukhuri and the rest of Georgia. He should leave immediately," Saakashvili told Rustavi-2 by phone. |
