Pak-Algeria to enhance military cooperation

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan and Algeria have expressed the desire to enhance bilateral Military cooperation at a meeting held here Tuesday.
Minister for Defence Rao Sikandar Iqbal and Ambassador of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Algeria Nadir Larbaoui, who called on him, agreed to enhance the cooperation in the defence field.

“Both sides agreed that there was a tremendous scope of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in different fields particularly in the area of defence,” said a news release.

The Algerian envoy informed the minister that it was essential to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries specially in the military field.
He said that Algeria wanted to get benefit from the arms industry of Pakistan.
The minister offered him that Pakistan could impart training and arrange courses for the military personnel of Algeria. Both sides also underscored the need for exchanging of visits by the military personnel of the two countries.
The Ambassador of Italy Roberto Mazzotta also called on Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal.

He discussed with the minister various matters pertaining to the military cooperation between the two countries.

The measures taken by Pakistan against the war on terror also came under discussion during the meeting.

The minister informed the envoy that Pakistan was successfully fighting the terrorist groups and major successes have been scored in this regard.
He told the Italian ambassador that owing to the bold and wise policies of President General Pervez Musharraf the back of terrorism had been broken.
The envoy appreciated the role played by Pakistan against the war on terror and said that they realised the efforts and price paid by Pakistan for fighting the menace of terrorism.

Algeria might get a UNSC seat too, only makes sense to increase co-op.

Plus we need markets for JF-17 and AK.

Algeria will benefit from this a lot more than Pakistan will!!
