Musharraf warns Israel against attack on Iran

Jerusalem, Sept. 27. (PTI): Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has warned Israel against any pre-emptive attack on Iran, accusing it of being the "ones who defy world order."

Israel should desist from any such action as "it is not the world police officer," he said in an interview to London-based Arab daily al-Hayat.

"I am against such a strike. The Israelis are the ones who defy world order," he was quoted as saying by the local media here adding that Israel would "suffer the consequences" if it attacks Iran.

The interview comes several months after a close confidante of Musharraf visited Israel last year to "test waters" before initiating the process of establishing full-fledged relations with the Jewish state.

In a chance meeting between former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Musharraf at the economic conference in Davos in January, Peres invited the Pakistani president to visit Israel to which Musharraf replied "Inshalla" (God willing).
