I'll give it to you - The Canadian Airborne Regiment in Somalia! And we've acted. We've disbanded that proud regiment.

Why?

You have not backed up one thing against my facts. I am not going to twist a very honourable man's words around to suit your needs. US GRANT WAS YOUR PRESIDENT! You should at least know what he meant.

What's the matter? I thought you were going to hold a wrong Canadian action over my head. I gave it to you.

I know what the quote means. The quote was simply a pretext to ask you the question. So, answer the question.

If you bothered to read my posts, you would know my position, which you have stated incorrectly above.

First, this is a biased paper. Just look at the opinion area of the web site. The first half of the article describes numerous reports of abuse (no specifics) and then sites that a men was arrested and transported somewhere on the hood of a vehicle. A deplorable incident no doubt, but hardly a sign of systematic abuse like Abu Ghraib.

The second half of the article describes that prisoners are kept in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, which is standard practice in maximum security American prisons.

This article describes one prisoner abuse. Civilians die in war if you think that the British soldier intentionally shot that 8 year old girl, your sick.

Half of you post seem to be written to some imaginary person that you seem to have a in-depth relationship with. Maybe you can tell me how he replies to you random statements.

Considering the way you would treat your own real American brothers, what's the difference?

I have absolutely no illusions about brotherhood being a shield against inhumanity. I've seen brother-against brother wars.

I have not and will not deny that Chretien was my Prime Minister. I have not and will not deny that his shameful policies against the US were just his policies, they were Canadian policies. I have not and will not deny that his two face actions vis-a-vi the US fit well within Canadian public opinion. Now, compare that with your posts on Clinton to which you try in everyway to distance the US from him. I don't like Chretien. I didn't vote for him but there is no way I am going to deny he was a CANADIAN PM.

Unlike you, I don't hide from mistakes. It's impossible not to make them, not even for your much vaunted President and most certainly, not you. However, the point about mistakes is that you acknowledge them, fix them, find out what you did wrong and hopefully not to make them again (doesn't always work but that's the general idea). And this entire Iraq War was a mistake.

Well, the links are not Arab. If I post them you all will be inflamed. I was not in Abu Gharaib and so it is the media that I read to be informed.

Do you believe the War on Terrorism is such a war?

Do you believe that one can have a logically valid position that the US did the right thing in Iraq?

I just saw the Congressional Inquiry where Gens Taugabe, Smith and some Under Secretary were grilled.

My folks were there watching it. I told them that is the greatness of the USA - Transparency and we should learn from them.

Except from one Redneck Sebnator who was outraged at the outrage, the others made US look like a shining star in equality. I am proud of them.

As for the redneck Senator is concerned, my answer to him is that Saddam is a BEAST and I would be ashamed and violated if I were to justify my actions with him as a Benchmark. I am a human being, Test me as a human and not with a beast or expect me to be a beast.

Technically he's right. We did secede from the United States to become a separate country.

It's sad nobody listened back then. The South could have surrendered with extensive terms early in the war. Instead we got a war that was itself an atrocity.

I agree, but if this dishonors all Americans, what does the absence of your country say? It says your country was on Saddam's side, to me. I blame your government though, and not you. I still believe in individuality, and I know the people who did these deeds are criminals, regardless of the uniform they wear. Just as I accept you for you, I condemn them for them. There are bad people everywhere there are people.

We've executed worse Canadians than that in our prisons.

He may even miscalculate and slide these weapons off to terrorist groups to invite them to be a surrogate to use them against the United States. It’s the miscalculation that poses the greatest threat-John Kerry
