Israel to get 100 JSF
IAF intends buying 100 JSF planes
Delivery of the Joint Strike Fighter is scheduled to begin in 2012. Each plane is expected to cost only $35 million. Dror Marom 7 Aug 03 16:13 Israel plans to buy 100 next-generation Joint Strike Fighters (JSF), built by Lockheed-Martin (NYSE:LMT), according to widespread estimates in the defense industry. Israel paid $20 million to join the JSF program last month. The Ministry of Defense confirmed that Israel plans to acquire the plane. A ministry source said, "Israel plans to procure 100 planes. Assuming that the JSF timetable proceeds on schedule, Israel will procure the planes in the next decade, depending on the defense budget constraints and the composition of needs at the time." The US, UK, Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Australia, Turkey, Canada, and Norway will also buy the JSF. The US plans to begin deploying the JSF in 2008, and Israel is scheduled to begin deployment in 2012. Israeli defense contractors are due to supply systems to the JSF program. Elbit Systems (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE:ESLT) has already been selected to supply the helmets, although only for the US planes. Like other new US fighters, the JSF will be stealthy, built with advanced technologies and materials to avoid radar. Although the JSF will be the most advanced jet in the Israel Air Force, it will be relatively inexpensive. The US Department of Defense has placed restrictions on the manufacturer to limit the price of each plane to $35 million. http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/ |

YEAH!!! Now we're gonna have even more fun!!! Do you know which model they're gonna get, the AF or the Marines? I think hovering in front of some sand-****** right before you blow him away is the greatest way to perform a hit.
