Please do not make it another India Pakistan thread. This is about OBL. Lets stick to that.

Very pertinent to South Asian politics as it marks a shift within Congress in attitudes towards Pakistan, but.. the arguments over OBL have been been re-repeated every 10 pages.. Agnostic Muslim continues to convince us over his word than the DoD and Panetti. It'd do us better to speculate on the regional fall-out and geopolitical impact of Osamas death, and more importantly U.S reactions to Pakistan which I believe are critical to the stability of the M.E

Does the U.S support Pakistan until withdrawal? Or continue to support them post-withdrawal despite the clear malcontent felt from both sides over the issue, (Pakistani public and.. AM would have us believe, intelligentsia, and Congress/U.S public). This is a big moment, because it could represent a foreign policy shift. Examining it in the wider context would be good.

Pakistan today is the epicenter of the most virulent forms of Islam. The vortex that sucks in all attracted to and identifying with that school of thought. Pakistan was created for the rich muslims of undivided India to have a place of their own to lord over, free from racially-challenged hindu filth. The pity for them is that they now have to send their kids off to western havens as their land of the pure is ravaged by the purest of the pure.

For the claims that the house was "checked out in 2003". Here is something.

Osama bin Laden's house in Abbottabad, which Pakistan's ISI agency says it raided in 2003, although satellite imagery from 2004 shows an empty field on the site.
I wonder if ISI actually went to check out the land for construction! You know, east facing, bright sunshine and all!

Lets change your flag to Pakistan and change every Pakistani/Pakistan word in your sentence to Indians/India. Sounds like a very similar tune doesn't it? Theres a reason why the Indians on this forum have a higher standard than the same dog-baiting tactics used by those they respectfully and logically dislike.

Thankfully its much tougher if nigh impossible to change flags in real life than it is on e-fora.

As was mentioned earlier , im glad they got these fcuks ,Sellafield is just up the road from me , well done vigilant cops, all Bangladeshi (allegedly), now where abouts is that place

A gang of five terror suspects arrested outside the Sellafield nuclear plant hours after news of the killing of Osama bin Laden broke are expected to be quizzed by counter-terrorism officers.

It comes a day after police raided four houses in east London linked to the suspects, who were detained during a vehicle stop-check near the nuclear installation in west Cumbria.

Reports that the five men had been filming the Sellafield site and are all Bangladeshi have not been confirmed by police.

The suspects, all aged in their 20s and from London, were stopped by officers on Monday afternoon, 300 miles from their homes, hours after it was revealed that bin Laden had been assassinated in a raid by US special forces in Pakistan.

It put the Western world on high alert of possible revenge attacks from al Qaida, amid threats of a "nuclear hellstorm" on the West if the terrorist mastermind was ever captured or killed.

The suspects were detained at 4.32pm following a stop-check on their vehicle by officers from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, who police the vast plant which handles highly dangerous nuclear material.

They were then arrested under the Terrorism Act by officers from Cumbria Police, held in custody in Carlisle overnight before being transferred to Manchester to be dealt with by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit, based in the city.

After details of the arrests were released by the Cumbria force and Greater Manchester Police (GMP), the Metropolitan Police revealed it had conducted raids on four houses in east London as part of the investigation.

A small container was recovered from one of the properties and has been sent for forensic examination, it was confirmed.

The men's arrests are not believed to have been intelligence-led but were as a direct result of the initial police stop-check on their vehicle.

I don't trust wikileaks like the next man, but nevertheless.

NDTV Wikileaks: US diplomatic cables from Pakistan

But in April 2007, then President Musharraf is reported as acknowledging that Osama may be in Pakistan. A cable dated April 10, 2007, from the embassy's Charge d'Affaires Peter Bodde reports on a meeting between Senator John McCain and Mr Musharraf. The President allegedly said that he believed Osama and Ayman al Zawahiri - the man who many believe will replace Osama as the head of Al-Qaeda - were "hiding in Bajaur agency.
I trust Musharaff over Gilani/Al-Zardari any day. Stronger command over the ISI, not to mention that he wouldn't make a statement like that without reason. Either the ISI is too incompetent, as suggested by Musharaff, or as later mentioned by Al-Zardari, they are operating without his knowing, given his tenous hold on power and ability to command, is more likely.

A year later, the Prime Minister of Pakistan contradicted General Musharraf. On April 17, 2008, a cable refers to a meeting between Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Michael Capuano, William Pascrell and Frank LoBiondo. Mr Gilani was asked where he believed Osama was hiding. The cable says the Prime Minister replied, "The intelligence agencies have no idea, but he's not in Pakistan"
More money grabbing here, pointing to the obfuscation and constant demand mentioned earlier.

The General highlighted that he had specially chosen Pakistan as his first foreign stop after taking over as head of the US Central Command. The Pakistani President said he needed to create a middle class to fight extremism. "The Taliban," he said, "can outpay my soldiers," the cable states.
