It would be very amusing if Zarahawi or one of those AQAP people in the future decided to try to make some sort of pilgrimage to the vicinity of the USS Carl Vinson location as of yesterday and got pasted by a a UAV.

I am grateful to hear a Pakistani perspective from some of our members, and personally respect people from Pakistan who want to be a contributing part of a peaceful world community. A few rotten apples can spoil the barrel as they say.
Pakistan is essential to the US for two reasons (or so says a former British ambassador to the US)
    - logistics support for US troops still there.
    - no peace in Afghanistan is possible without the support of Pakistan

Once US troops wind down post 2013, the first reason goes away. They will be able to support them through overland routes. What about the second ?

This is what determines whether US - Pakistan relations take an adverse turn or not.

Just imagine the wake (of the CVN after the deep six that is)

Should have tossed his ass from the bow, given the "old familiar adage" and plowed over it with 100,000 tons of American soverignty.

I wonder if A-stan is still the "good war" for Obama now that Osama is dead.

Gates - My boys (seal's) are gonna handle this.

Biden - Very Vice Presidential like.

NSA Chief - Gates and the JSOC better get this right my ass is on the line...

Hillary - OMG... my Husband could of prevented all of this, but he was too busy with Monica Lewinsky.. probably all filled with regret, when Clinton got in bed at night, and said hunny I had to make an important decision I could of took out the most wanted terrorist in the world, but I was afraid of collateral damage hunny....Mrs Clinton goes, oh you did the right thing hunny!

Mullen - Then you got Mullen thinking about sending in the F-22's in case Pakistan gives them any shit.. maybe a few cruise missiles if seals meet resistance.

CNN reported that the reports of the ISI/SSG/Easter Bunny on the ground during the raid have been retracted by the Pakistanis....

After killing bin Laden, US questions ally Pakistan | Latest-News | DAWN.COM

“We are looking right now at how he was able to hold out there for so long and whether or not there was any type of support system within Pakistan that allowed him to stay there,” Brennan told a White House briefing.

“This is going to be a time of real pressure” on Pakistan “to basically prove to us that they didn’t know that bin Laden was there,” Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Joseph Lieberman said at a news conference

Pakistanis would first like to see that indeed the one killed in that compound was bin laden , this story about body being thrown in the sea is just not real.

It was stated above that Pakistanis can note a chopper in the air but no bin laden , well guess what one has rotor blades that cut the air an make a good amout of noise while and the other one doesnt.

All this nonsense is just to pressurize Pakistan mostly because of the recent oppostion that Pakistan has given to US conducting operations inside Pakistan.

Removal of US forces from Shamsi airfiled also happened a few days back and then there was this back and forth of mouthing off that was started by Mike Mullen.

Abbotabad is the Alma Matter of the Pakistan Army , ... bin laden or no bin laden ... this act of the United States would have pissed off many in the miltary.
