Military Rank
Considering the large number of servicemen/women on these forums, could we have some sort of system where people put their actual military rank in their sig or something? It's kinda hard to remember who is an ex-colnel etc.

Territorial Army Captain, commisioned through the ranks.
actually, while i enjoy having a 'stucture' on the board, could we have a parralel or number of paralel lines of advancement? i'm not sure i define everything about me by my military rank in real life - possibly because i'm a reservist, and while many of the threads do relate to military subjects, most relate to political, social, diplomatic and intelligence related subjects. in real life, i'm an academic - and to a certain extent i'm an academic in uniform within the army. could we not have a military scale, an academic scale and a diplomatic scale - perhaps even a corporate or law-enforcement scale? people would then be able to choose the 'thought-train' that they feel most clearly represents their views and experiences and allows others to see where posters ideas are coming from.
