After I finish undergrad in May 07 and head to medical school, I am going to join the Army or Air Force as an officer and carry on from there. So, I will hopefully be a second lieutenant in the summer of 07 and captain after I finish med school. Anyone have advice on which service I should lean towards? I feel as though I could make a bigger difference in the Army.

BTW, does anyone know of the army's current retirement plans for long careers like 20 or 30 years?
you mean like a pension or something?

you get 50% of the average of your highest 36 months of pay. Add 2.5% (i think) to every year after that. Put in 30 and you can get 75%. I'm also considering the military as a career.

Shucks Gunny, that sounds like loads of fun, except that your fellow sun worshippers are usually shooting at you!

Well i see that delusions of granduer are still alive and well in the corps.

In reality you were a well conditioned brain-washed robot issued second rate equipment and taking orders from sailors.

A fate worse than hell if you ask me.

Actually, long ago in okinawa, I had a friend that was a wrestling freak. He had his family send tapes of it. It was either watch WWF or AFRTS . So Wrestling or soap operas. The big name back then was Rick Flair. That was part of his Signature phrase. Ended in something like kissing his biceps and telling women to "Jump on this magic Mountain " Same guy tha use to say "If you want to be the man, You gotta beat the Man"

If I can find it I'll post the whole speil. Funny as hell

One of my favorite sayings as a young jarhead. "Eat the apple.F**k the Corps"

We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the anchor from the Navy, the rope from the Army, and on the seventh day while God rested, we overran his perimeter, stole the globe, and have been running the show ever since.

We live like soldiers, talk like sailors and slap the hell out of both of them. Marine by day, Lover by night, drunkard by choice,
