I made it all just for fun. It isn't meant to be practical. Strategic concerns are the focus of it.

Is that because amatuers discuss tactics and shiny equipment whilst the professionals study logistics?

I'm going to revise that one.

Amateurs think strategy and tactics are the end-all, be-all of warfare. Professionals 1st think logistics before anything else.

And then we all stop and realize, that this was just a fantasy scenario. Shiny military is far more interesting than logistics. Besides, I already stated it wasn't practical. lol.

Alright, I know NOTHING about Naval warfare, but I'll choose the small-arms to go in my soldiers' arms:
Infantry: Main: M16a4 in 6.8mm SPC, with 1-4x ACOG. Pistol: SIG-PRO 2340 in .357 SIG
    Rangers: FN F2000 w/ silencer, FN 5-7 w/ silencer
Spec-ops: FN p90 w/ silencer, S4M silent pistol for assasiation plots.
Snipers: CheyTac Intervention m200 .408 caliber rifle, Steyr IWS-2000(my sig) for vehicles.
SAW gunners: Ultimax w/ 200 rd. belts
HMG gunners: Xm312 (or is it 307?) .50 cal. machine guns
For automated sentries, I'd pick those modified Phalanx gun thingies that shoot-down mortars, and for anti-personnell automated sentries, I'd pick the 25mm xm307 (or is it 312?) with the auto-firing infrared targteting systems.

That's all I have for now, I'll get to vehicles later.

The thread mentioned something about a new military doctrine, and 'Defcon 6' ends up with a list of an army without engineer or arty elements.
    Defcon,
A shopping list does not make a "new doctrine". Any changes in "doctrine" mean changes in the curriculum of the military schools of instruction of that nation/army.

    Cheers!...on the rocks!!
