I have to agree. The Merkava was designed for Israel and its surrounding regions, and it is by far the most rugged tank out there. the MK.IV will constantly outperform anything in Israel-specific climes, I daresay even an Abrams.

On that same forum is a post by an Israeli-tanker, which highlights the fact that only 2 Mk.IVs were destroyed in the Lebanon War, only after facing continous barrages from 16+ Kornet Missiles. Also shown is the decreasing crew death ratio, from about 2.5 in Yom Kippur war to about 1 now.
