Where the hell did you get that? Spetznez is just a generic term for Special Forces. Virtually every branch have a Spetznez unit and they range in quality from the hoodlums to those approaching the SAS.What is that supposed to mean???? Don't misunderstand. By hoodlum I mean that they don't believe in the softer things of life. Their training is tough and mean. There are no formalities like asking the people in the car to come out with the hands held high. One guy breaks the rear wind shield with a crowbar/sledge hammer, and the second guy dives through the back and bangs the heads of the two sitting in the rear. Its awesome when you watch it.

Reminds me of an incident that happened several weeks in a Russian town..This was the Russian equivalent of SWAT though. After several policemen were beaten,the police commander sant in the SWAT team..They went house-to-house and took every boy older than 15.There they were beaten and released without charge..Aparently it was to teach them a lesson never to attack law enforcement officers...Anyone interested I can get them the articles..They are in Russian though.I don't know if the story made it to any English daily.

I agree with that. Its true they are rough and tough. I've watched some of their training videos too.
When it comes to sealth, entering, and securing prisoners im sure its not that much different then your training. However, im certin parts of their training are radically different. I once read Col. Charlie Beckwith's (the founder of Delta Force) book and he said that Delta members are required to train twice a day with their firearms.
Not much. I tested for my black belt with the safety officer at the US Navy SEALs school down in San Diego. He gave a few tips on the SEALs and their training, but when I asked about the Delta Force, he clammed up and said they're very secret.
He also said I could whup most SEALs in a fist fight, but then he was a bit drunk, and a bit prone to exaggeration having survived black belt camp. (BTW, he's been through all facets of SEAL training, being the safety officer.)
I have oodles of respect for special forces, and no, I wouldn't relish getting into a fistfight with any of those guys. Nor would I with a female member of a SWAT team, as a matter of fact, Veni.

I don't suppose that anything other than unarmed combat counts? How about disarming combat? You know, engaging an enemy with stealth and guile. Perhaps over dinner. Knowing how to use a fork beyond the immedite utility of causing head trauma. That sort of thing. I'm informed that the SAS are capable of both. Some, it is rumoured, can tie their own dicky bow sans female intervention.

My favorite SOF is the US Army Green Berets. Their exploits are just awesome
A great book about them is "Masters Of Chaos: The Secret History Of The Special Forces" by Linda Robinson
I highly recommend it for anybody who is interested in the subject
