India+Russia vs. China+Pakistan

Ok, lets think things through, IF Indian went into the war war with Russia, then you have two of the biggest armies in the world. India who ar every well trained have;

Active Troops - 1,300,000
Reserve Troops - 1,200,000
Territorial Army - 200,000
It's a big army, and this is just the army, but, for the countries size, it's not big in comparison to China. Plus, the Indian Navy is very good, and they have many Migs from Russia, which are very good planes.

Russia:
Active Troops: 1,037,000
Total Troops: 3,796,100
All of these active troops will be well trained, but the other troops, who are in the reserves, won't have been as well trained, and just numbers mainly.

China Army:
Fit for military service - 281,240,272 woah
Active military personnel - 2,250,000 not quite as impressive ^
Reserves - 800,000

You say that China can make up for lack of firepower in numbers, which could be correct, but they will need oil etc to fuel their needs. a lot of this fuel is from Russia, who they'll be at war with, they would try to invade an eastern part of Russia with lots of oil in. You say the tanks etc aren't of a good standard, but a lot of their equipment is good standard, and they can produce more, for cheaper due to mass production. most of Russia's might comes from the West.

India has a very good military, and would stand it's ground on their side of the Himalayas, and not cross if they had common sense, they would wait for the chinese to enter. Pakistan would keep India occupied for a little while. I really don't know what would happen, but western countries should stay out of it to avoid trouble if you ask me.

I don't smoke. I thought that Iran was apart of the Arab League but it isn't, so let me add it to Russia/China's side.

It's Russia, China, India, Iran, North Korea, Arab League, Serbia etc. vs. USA, Italy, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France etc.

Think about it. Russia, China and India are all based or part of one continent, but besides that when you look at history of aggressor powers during a world war they have been always three major powers with minor ones vs. the other side.

World War 1 - Ottoman Empire, German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire
World War 2 - Germany, Italy, Japan

This repeats the same cycle. Besides that, where are Russia and China going to find another major power. I belive it's going to be India since most of them are fed up being under British rule...

I don't see why people always look to current power, current number of troops, vehicles, expenditure/gdp, etc.

In an all out total war, the country's maximum resources are used, so this goes for both industrialization and manpower. Don't look at Russia, China and India's current manpower, they could easily get millions each within a few months.

Oh to continue this or to beg the versus threads get shut down.... dang it decisions........

lets just say that 4 nuclear armed countries will never get into a total war situation with each other in the foreseable future. Border skrimish and limited strikes, perhaps. Massive mobilization, invasion of core territory,activation of the main military forces can't and won't happen; everyone has far to much to loose, You can see border wars and rogue incursions (or authorized military adventurism that is called a rogue unit because modern military units really don't go rogue unless they are staging a coup in their own country); total war can't and won't happen and is something of an exercise in the absurd!!! (repation for the win; I believe that somewhere I was trained that if you say something often and loudly enough even the densest person might eventually get it.)

Now lets play this 3rd world nation versus that (you can even go second world) or this third world non-nuke country or alliance getting silly and going after that nuclear country or in theory This bloc of middle easterns versus Israel if we want to play versus. (plus it has the added niftiness of being fun to research and the actual units possessed by both sides and their organization being somewhat open.(save for iran and Isreal) We can also specualate funly on the abilities of milita and improvised combat systems. It also give the possibility for some fun excerises in the absurd like can a trio of 50's upgraded shermans take a pair of t-54/55's or a single T-72 or what happens if 5 bmp-2's fight a pair of leopard 1's.

Or which Aisan break-away provences managed to keep what hardware running and are any of them agressive enough to see what they can get from their neighbors? Does anyone know anything about the Uzebistani army? or is it Uzbek not to self learn how to speak about that country.
