I think the Leclerc is an awesome tank, but I would have to see it in battle first.
No problem. Join the French army.

Hmmm Col , it all depends how one looks at it , if he is BEHIND them he is obviously retreating ,and the frog panzer will be going : forward : ( backwards to us ) towards their own lines as it were , so the chances of being run over are minimal i would think , (unless the tank behind which is going forward , runs him down its rush )but the chances of being shot in the back of the head are 100% , if you see what i mean

Woah! Can I get that Military Professional band as well? )

I spent 2 years as a Lance Corporal in the Armed forces, where I come from. Bridging Engineer. Worked on Ribbon-type of bridges as well as assault boats. Primarily handled the logistics work though.

Hello my opinion is that the Leclerc is a great main battle tank one of the greatest in the world the problem from my view is the maintenance factor we are talking about a very sophisticated weapon system and is very expensive to keep it ready for battle for a long period of time.
That was one of the main reasons that my country decided to choose the leopard II A6 HELL.

I JUST joined WAB today, though I have been following the Tank threads for the better part of a year now, I am just sick and tired of thje MORONS that prevail on the World of Tanks forums (yes, I am 100% aware the game IS NOT HISTOICAL!)

But they do have historical gun/armor discussions, unfortunately they are ENTIRELY pointless! In fact, those forums are even pointless for talking about THE GAME!

Therefore I have made a wise decision I believe will save me a LOT of grief, I dropped off that forum, and joined this forum (for historical purposes) and Duxter (for all purposes relating to WOT - a game)

I have to agree with ZRaver that there are (currently) 4 main contenders for "best tank", but each performs in different scenarios differently due to different doctrine and outfitting, but you could NEVER call one tank the BEST for all purposes, at least not right now, and if ever there is a "best tank" - that is to say an objectively world beating tank - it likely would not hold such an advantage for long.

Man that Ross dude really makes SOME of the WOT players on the forum look level headed Do you think his gigantic resume was even partially real? Meh, I suppose that is not important...

Anyway, I will probably be starting some threads of my own, as I would REALLY love to find actual German WW2 gun performance Vs. whatever else was around at the time, and specifically I mean I would like to "demystify" some of the numbers by doing a direct AP ammo comparison, against the same targets with the same tolerances ( As WW2 German guns were rated against 30 deg sloped armor, SOME people believe they required only 50% penetration at all ranges, when I have read that tolerances like that were only allowed at over 1KM ranges...)
