wow. the bars on the outside are actually a really good idea. If you ccan get an rpg to detonate off the actually side of the thing, i bet it takes away alot of the impact force. also there designed to take an rpg anyways. there good becasue there light and fast and can hold more infantry then a humvee, plus you can add all sorts of goodies. (30 mil, vulcan gun, stinger missles). honestly you guys need to watch more history channel.

I looked at those pictures in the first page a noticed that there's no turret in that vechile, any APC with a gun and no turret is bad news for the soldiers riding in it especially if you happen to be the gunner, any small arms fire can take out the gunner including shrapnels from mortar and artillery shells.

The gun on stryker is remote control, fired from inside the vehicle.

Well in that case good for the crew That stryker is amphibious right? but what about Bradley, can it cross rivers without any special preparations, and BMP series? I know the BTR-80/90 can cross any water obstacle without preparations.

The M-2/3 BFV is amphibious in name only, lol.

It has some stupid skirt system that has to be installed, and takes forever to do so. It's certainly not something you'd ever want to do under fire!

The BM-1/2 are fully amphibious, the T-series tanks are supposed to be amphibious, but um.....they havn't shown too much in tests.

The T-tanks have somekind of snorkel that allows it to drive through water obstacles of 5 meters deep maximum. It is supposed to do that well but its another story if you get stuck in the bottom of a river

The russian echelon tactics let them ford up to 5 meters of water in MBTs. But Tankers didnt like doing it because you were more likely to die doing it than succeed. But thats off topic I think

What do you guys think of the NZLAV? It's similar to the stryker, but has a 25mm cannon, can carry 7pax. I'm from New Zealand, and like you guys we had some controversy about the cost of the LAV, but overall I think its a good vehicle.

These kind of vechiles are so fragile they can blow apart from a rifle grenade. With RPG you don't have to hit the back of the vechile, any point of impact is good enough.

I just don't believe Stryker or any other vechile of that class can take an RPG hit, if the RPG-7 has the same penetration power as M72 LAW which is about 350mm then there's no way even the front armor would be strong enough unless ofcourse there are sandbags hanging from those things but if its "naked" like that then its heavenly luck if it survives such impact.

It won't be naked, they all have thoose fences to defend against RPG's. Unless the Iraqi's attack it from the top or use a tandem warhead it is not likely they will knock the vehicle out.
