Aah yes, the days of sending newbees to the motorpool on a saturday because either :
1. The Gamma Goats broke loose so I need you to go corral them back up. 2. We feed you on the weekends why would you think we wouldn't feed our goats? That would be cruel, Now go feed the gamma Goats PFC!!! I think we took them ashore in the Root, first time.Used as a BOC untill we started digging in. Then I think they went back on ship. Don't know if you count that. We did open the two way rifle range a few times. And popped some illum rounds on top of a Druze Battery one night. God what I would have given to see the looks on their faces when those things popped about 100meters above the gun line. And pretty much a shell over each gun. Had them Dead to friggin rights, and they knew it. ![]() FDC had the black book magic working overtime on that one. |

BOCs
"Used as a BOC untill we started digging in."
Us too. You should have left it buried. X.O.'s vehicle, the poor fcuker. I (natch) had the M577, a regal piece of equipment with spacious and gracious extended living quarters and first-class comfort (when the heater was working, which wasn't often). Only lacked an A.A. gun station but we'd throw the M-60 up top w/ some sandbags so we could look "BAAAD" on occupations (my PFC VCO insisted!). One of my room mates was a Jewish lieutenant who took the Q-37 platoon over from Sill to shoot for you guys and the Jersey. They replaced a team out of I-SEE-O Hall. Shipwreck (I think) seems to know some hard stuff on that shooting but, by everything we heard, Firefinder did well and so did the Jersey. |
