Israeli soldiers use palestinian boy to search for bombs

Hey wabbers waddya think of this act then , pretty low methinks

A nine-year-old Palestinian boy, used as a human shield by two Israeli soldiers, has said they should have been jailed.

The pair forced the child to search for suspected booby traps while they kept their distance during Operation Cast Lead last year.

Israeli military prosecutors had called for stiff sentences and time behind bars but the military court handed down suspended three-month sentences and a demotion in rank.

Judges said they took into account the soldiers' good records and the conditions they were operating under.

But the boy, Majed Rabah, said he was angry they had not gone to jail. "It's unfair. They should have been jailed for a year or two."

His mother, Afaf, called for the Israelis to be brought before an international war crimes court.

The Palestinian Authority condemned the sentence as "soft".

Israel calls its army the most moral in the world. But its conduct during last year's Gaza offensive has been mired in controversy.

A UN-commissioned report by South African judge Richard Goldstone accused Israel and Hamas of grave violations of human rights during the war.

Israel claims to have been unfairly singled out for criticism by the report. Supporters of the two soldiers in this case claim they were being made scapegoats in the wake of the Goldstone report.

A number of Israeli Knesset members have called for the country's President to commute the sentences and expunge the criminal records of the soldiers.

In a letter to President Shimon Peres they described the punishment as an "unnecessary mark of shame".

I have no sympathy for these two. Our Supreme Court declared years ago that this act and others like it are illegal. These two knowingly committed the acts anyway, they should get their asses handed to them. No one denies their good records and the conditions they were dealing under, but there are still things you don't do, and for exactly this reason.

I am slightly ashamed and disgusted...

Although, from a practical point of view, if one side is not gonna follow the rules (Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza, etc...) I don't know why the other side always feels the need to fight at a disadvantage. If the GC really wanted to make wars fair, they wouldn't try and level the playing field at all. No holds barred and then we'll see who still wants to fight.

The GC has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BARBARIANS but everything to do with us. We do not want a private to butcher 300 civilians to collect their heads. His nightmares alone would make him useless to us. We want that Major of LCol to drop that nuke and live the consequences ... because he can.

Do you think the private doesn't have nightmares about that civilian that passed him on the street, then killed himself and blew up 4 of his buddies?

We are not and will not ask the Private to collect 300 heads but we will demand the Major to drop that nuke to burn 100,000 babies.

But we will also ask the private to stand by and do nothing while "innocent civilians" then abuse that and cause the deaths of actual innocents, as well as that of the private and his mates.

If one side doesn't play fair, why should the other? Obviously the one side doesn't care a whit about civilian casualties, the other side should accommodate them and play their own game.

Then, they are not "innocent civillians" but combattants, maybe even illegal combattants and deserved to be treated as such under the Laws of Armed Combat.

What has fair got to do with anything. There is the bigger picture that the private is not privy to. For the honour of your country, that private's life is up for grabs. He is to be sacraficed so that no disgrace can come to the Flag. Your Flag is far more important and far more valuable than that Private ... and Your Flag has been shamed.
