Thread: Joining the USMC

Hello everyone,

So here is the situation, I'm considering joining the USMC and a friend of mine as well. Neither of us are US citizens and do not live in the USA. The only difference is that I want to go to OCS and he wants to enlist. I know that I need to be an American citizen and have to finish to college to attend OCS. So here is the thing:

My plan: After finishing high school I'm going to study in the states, that's about 4-5 years and while studying there attending for permanent stay and then for US citizenship. My question: Is it possible with a college visa to attend for something like that (I mean permanent stay and US citizenship after that) and if yes, could some one explain it a bit better to me?

My friend’s plan: He wants, after finishing high school, to go to the States and enlist immediately and after some research in the internet I found out that he just needs to have the status Resident alien (I think it's the same as permanent stay)... How can he get that status?And is it possible for us to make our dream come true ? (:
