I belive you would have to become a US citizen, although I have heard of illegal immigrants serving in the USMC in Iraq and getting an "honorary citizenship" if they are KIA.

Actually, look back into your families history, there might be a way to claim citizenship via that. Plus, you'd be surprised, but I think that telling them you want to become a citizen in order to become a Marine might actually work. You'd need to talk to the USMC though, and ask them about all this. You might become a citizen and not be accepted as a Marine, which would defeat the purpose. Go to the USMC website or try and contact them and ask them all your questions, they can give you better answers than I can
Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

AFAIK, all you have to do is get your green card and pass the physical. Mexicans do it all the time, you just have to do the same things they do.

You can become a resident alien, then join the USMC. I don't think you can opt to join the military as a mercenary, you have to go through the steps to become a US citizen. I think the vast majority of non-citizens serving in the US military are in the process of becoming citizens.

I might be able to help

    Good day Fire,
I currently train Marines in certain MoS's and know a few active duty marines who are not yet United States citizens. I will see if I can find out any information on how they went about thier recruitment into the USMC. As was mentioned before most are of hispanic background that I know anyway but maybe they can provide some insight. Good luck with your struggle and Semper Fi!

even if that enforcement is mostly at the hands of the United States, a right we retain even if the Security Council fails to act-John Kerry
He may even miscalculate and slide these weapons off to terrorist groups to invite them to be a surrogate to use them against the United States. It’s the miscalculation that poses the greatest threat-John Kerry

The least they deserve, but I don't understand what that has to do with what he quoted.
