It's not politically correct to stomp on other nationalities, and they tend to retaliate against British businesses, so Americans are routinely targeted because we're such Anglophiles and good sports about it.

I've had some pretty entertaining exchanges with Brit's and Aussies, concerning "The American Attitude Problem" I guess it's just our cultures are so alike and so very different.
As far as Arrogance, I suppose Brits are a little intitled to it, Theyre only a thousand or so years older as far as societies go. Soooo I can see them looking at us as loud obnoxious ill mannered children.

remember:
1. Be polite
2. be professional
3. don't take it personally
4. Go back to doing what you were doing in the first place...,

A sweeping statement...

The British are a proud people and rightfully so. I believe the word "Hubris" is defined as "The arrogance of pride". I have used the term to describe British officers at times (and others).

And certainly not limited to the British. The British officer class (and sadly, it very often remains a "class") has pretensions toward inate superiority. It annoys me that this is used as a microcosm of British society in general. It is an anachronism and does not truly reflect modern Britain.

Most Brits that I've met here in the colonies have been very down to earth and friendly.

Granted, I havent met any "blue-bloods", aristocrats or the like.

My boss went to Scotland and surprised me with a bottle of 10 year old scotch whisky. Man that stuff gives me a hangover from hell....

I guess I'm not as Scottish as I thought.
