I was agreeing that the Israelis know mounted combat. Some people, not necessarily anyone here, seem to have an axe to grind with Israel politically and bash anything Israeli.

I'm not arguing they don't. They get quite a bit of training from us, and we from them. Israel is the only level headed country over there, and they know how to deal with that. We on the other hand operate better in woodland and open combat at far ranges.

I really don't think there's a need for M60s in the Army these days, however I have heard some interesting arguments that the Marines should have kept them rather than getting Abrams.

I agree. Most Marine units where armed with the A1, but some where armed with the A3.
