Well if you want to be a poodle of the US Army, you can certainly look at the British Army. (just j/king to all pom poms)

Overstretched means they have many obligations around the world. Under-equiped means their socialist government is full of pansies.

France doesn't need to worry about being overstretched, since it has lost most of its former colonies. When there's actually a need, French government is too pansy to deploy its unstretched and moderately equipped forces.

Oh help, the coalition of the willing is ganging up on me!

Seriously lads, how is it rubbish.

    The British are a joke.

Sure France doesn't have any colonial territory left, but neither does The UK or the US, so I have no idea where that was going.

Oh, and France don't deploy abroad because they have no world enemies.
But they US wouldn't know anything about that would they... .

LMAO.... such an intelligent posting of pure vitriol without any reference or relation to reality or facts...

Care to outline why the British armed forces (or the British more generally) are such jokes? Some actual facts (rather than the putrid rumbling of your stomach) would be nice.

As to the French having no enemies, get real. The French are present in Afghanistan, co-operate with intelligence against Islamicist groups, are deeply unpopular in Algeria and elsewhere in Africa for example.

I'm not sure if you are Irish and if that has a bearing on your warped sentiments. Unless you can back up your drivel, stop spouting it.

If you mean in whole Europe, than Russia is the strongest, if only in EU that I think UK and Germany are in challenge.
Germans once concured all the Europe accept USSR and Britain but British had 5-6% of a whole deal of Germany's falling (not a lot, 80% of German loses cames on Russian front) and now Germans may do the same but more succesfull with Europe if UK and France will not have USA's help. About concuring Russia -- thats almost impossible for them because of Russian amount of H and N-bombs. Plus Russians have a good air deffence, ground deffence and a huge army. I don't think any of the European nations would be able to concure it, maybe if they will all unite themselves but one problem is that Russian still can turn any continent into a fired desert...

Subs can take off any battleship and even destroy the whole navy.

The current conservative estimates are that up to 80% of the penanted fleet is either unseaworthy for blue water deployment - or inoperable without requiring substantial investment. Either way, that percentile is unable to surge and deploy as required. Another 20+ nukes are due for the cutters next year. 23(??) were sliced and diced this year - one of which was paid for by New Zealand.

In real absolute terms, UK, France and Japan all have stronger "work ready" fleets.

The Russian sub fleet is but a shell of its former self - and is nowhere near comparable to the UK and France as far as readiness, recent sea time and persistent training.

ps. there are no more battleships on any navies active list (unless we want to include HMS Victory as a form of wooden battleship).

    Sorry?

Being Irish must mean I'm anti-british?

Man, come visit Ireland before spouting rubbish like that.

    Warped senitments?
Because I think your military is a joke?

Just trying to get to the root of your unbalanced prejudice. If you can't come up with anything but meaningless slander and assertions, then consider not saying them... this is a discussion board, not a deposititory for your meaningless tripe.

But then, perhaps you lack the wit and understanding (not to mention the evidence) to post anything else. Symptomatic of a more fundamental defect...

I can't understand why disagreeing with you is causing such a venomous attack.

I have said nothing out of turn to you, so what's the prob?

Oh, and stop the nationality assaults instead of bigoting and stereotyping by nation.

And what "evidence" do you desire?

(Though as France and Britain will never war again, it's tough to actually "prove" who would win a war)

It's called retailation for your groundless comments on the British armed forces...
I have said nothing out of turn to you, so what's the prob?
You have made sweeping comments, failed to support them with any arguments or evidence beyond refering to the UK's armed forces as a "joke". Ergo, you were talking rubbish and offered the chance to back it up with something.
Oh, and stop the nationality assaults
I asked you if you were Irish. Some Irish people do have a problem with the UK. I merely wished to establish if you were one of them. Sorry if that was too difficult for you to understand.

    bigoting and stereotyping by nation.
Doesnt make sense, please re-draft this...
And what "evidence" do you desire?
Evidence to support your supposition that the British armed forces are a joke

    Try reading posts carefully...
