Lull,
While the author can write what he wants and the US can do what they want.
But the real thing that US and Europe must think is that terorists are not the real threat, even if they are cisible and immediate.
The real threat is the 'alien' population that is swarming their shores. I read this somewhere that the low population growth in the US and Europe is making them make up the difference from non US and non European nations to their shores.
In short, a whole lot of 'aliens' are coming in and becoming citizens. The dangerous ones are coming in surreptitiously as illegals.
Soon, US and Europe will be foreign to the present Americans or Europeans respectively.
That is the real threat.
All this Iraq and all the other stuff is chicken feed in comparison. They come and they go and the world still goes on forever.
But what about the foreign populuation that is coming in by hordes? Fine, the US has a quota system, but once the population declines, they will have to have more men to do the jobs. From where will they come? From elsewhere and quite a few of them can be fundamentalists who will rouse the new immigrants with perceived and real greviances, which are bound to be ther in any country.
Then, Lull will come the real victory........(trumpets blare!)
Therefore, it is time that the US and Europe wake up to the reality.
The Americans on this Board do not like the French. But France is the only country that has BALLS in this respect. They should learn something from the French.
The French have put their foot down and said, follow any religion or any culture but it better ammalgamate with the French culture or get the bloody hell out. It is not the burkha alone, they have said that religious blokes of all religion will say their prayers in French and they will in public follow the French culture and norms!
That's real guts. That is catching the bull by the horn. That is cocking the snoot to this silly political correctness that has gripped everybody.
I do not say that human rights should be violated. But ammalgamation with the host country's culture is a MUST. If you live and eat in a country, it is imperative that you join them in their happiness and in their sorrows, in their aims and desires.
Follow any religion, but do so privately. Do not flaunt it aggressively in public as a challenge to the local customs, traditions and practices. Religion is the most touchy subject and hence it causes all the problems in the world.
