The very fact that a foreigner's fund i.e. Soros ensures the election/ popularity of a Head of State speaks volumes of who controls what!

    It ruins the credibility!

It might not appeal to you, but I was brought up in British public school traditions which to you and modern Britons may appear odd.

Some of the things that I have been taught are:

    1. Never speak out of school.

    2. Never sneak.

    3. Stand up like a man and fight your own battles!

Moreover, if one requires foreign funds and not funded by his own people, he appears a ''sponsored''!!

And being sponsored means it is a quid pro quo!

Would you feel comfortable if Obama or McCain were foreign sponsored and always looking over the shoulder from their foreign sponsors' nod?

    I wouldn't.

There are some things that confuse me about this supposed Soros sponsorship? According to some of the postings here, the Georgian leader is a Bush Puppet. And according to some, Soros sponsors Saakashvilli. Yet Soros dislikes Bush and spent a lot of money to try to prevent Bush from winning in 04. Those three things seem dont seem to go together.

Soros is an Eastern European who wants to see open democracy spread thoughout the former Soviet Republics. He has contributed to various movements throughout the former soviet union and warsaw pact nations. There doesn't seem to be any sponsorship per say. His organization contributed money to Georgia, but didn't really do much more than they did in other nations. As far as I can tell, his reason was to see democracy spread. Personally, I don't see what how there could be any quid pro quo, since there really isn't much that Saakashvilli could do for Soros. Soros is a very wealthy man, and there isn't much Saakashvilli could provide for him. Soros himself says his role in the Rose revolution was greatly exagerated.

As far as your schooling, what does the term "never speak out of school" mean? Did you mean never speak out of turn?

What I learned in school was don't stick your tongue to metal when its cold, don't mess with the teacher who has the fiberglass paddle, and never trust any journalist who writes with a heavily biased agenda.

No, I wouldn't want Mccain sponsored by a foreign government, but since the US is a relatively wealthy country and its candidates don't need outside assistance, and I don't think Soros sponsored Saakashvilli, its not much of an issue.

It does not matter if Soros and Bush are lovebirds!

They are birds of the same feather.

Do not speak out of school means let our internal issues remain internal.

I rather go by English English than anything else. The others are not original and more so, too colourful and odd! )

I am sure you would not know dinkum. I also did not now till I read a Jeffery Archer book "When the Crow Flies" or something!

Dinkum or fair dinkum means "true", "the truth", "speaking the truth", and related meanings, depending on context and inflection. It is often claimed that dinkum was derived from the Cantonese (or Hokkien) ding kam!

So, English English is the safer option!

    That is fair dinkum!

Soros has spent pretty big amounts of money in this neighbourhood.
Ray, Sir please tell me how can sending my Mom to english complementary courses in England (she´s english teacher) or funding youth exchange or other similar , NGO projects, schooling programs can be accounted as controlling a country?
And please remember me , who were Shaakashvili´s enemy´s sponsors?

    Braindead,

If I knew it and had the inclination, I would have gone myself and added to UK's miseries of foreigners coming and taking their jobs!! )

The saving grace is that I would not be a Mosque hopping type of a chap. No Mosque hoping for me! )

    Not a Moslem

Would be equally peeved to hear the wail calling the Faithful!

    Sending the military is!

Peace Corps and NGOs are not that clean as you think.

    Neither are journalists!

    For Georgian president:

    I could not work,
    I dared not rob.
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
Tell me; what lies shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?
