IT IS NOT CHILDISH FOR OTHERS. AND YOU JUST DON'T DENY YOUR OWN HISTORY AND CULTURE.

It is an incredibly childish issue.

And to I assume, threaten them with genocide just proves the point.

Listen the president calls them Macedonia, the country call themselves Macedonia, my globe and wall map call them Macedonia. Hell they have used the name for awhile to call themselves. So what one has is some petty ass country whining.

I don't compare our standards with the Turkish ones.

That is wonderfully offensive.

There are a lot of people in this world who just need to grow up & stop living in some imagined past.

But then what would they do?

The damn shame is people can't really see how petty demanding a country change its name is.

well since the topic is my country`s name Republic of Macedonia I guess will join the debate

first of all there was no province named in Greece Macedonia till 80`s funny but true.....Republic of Macedonia was part of Yugoslav Federation with name Socialistic Republic of Macedonia and in that time greeks were too scared to say a word to Yugoslavia about this issue,guess they are only brave when see smaller opponent

greeks dont allow thousands of people born on their land with canadian american passports to enter Greece-why? on their passport is written that they are born in Greece but their nationality is Macedonian

and now somehow greeks dont feel so macedonian on them and entrance to their theritory is forbiden although they dont need visa and stuff like that....how come in Greece doesnt live any albanians,turks,bulgarians,macedonians is there any magic force that keeps greek nation so clear

)one person in history wanted to have clear nation and you know he ended.....not to mention egzodus of macedonians from Greece or destroyed graves with slavic names on them or maybe is normal to change the name of country but what about changing people`s name-yes greeks did it.....if your name was Vasko they will name you Vaskopoulos and so on.....nationalizam has entered deep in them...pity they are considered to be first democratic nation....

Which has the word Macedonia in it. To top things off you guys should have at least tried to force something on them and the world in the mean time that didn't have the word Macedonia in it, which makes shortening the term of Macedonia more logical for the average person, thus making the country Macedonia to people hearing the unwieldy ass name people have tried to force on it. Guess when one gets stuck on stupid they fail to think **** like that out...

This is a pathetic issue showing really how really pathetic of a country Greece is. It's failure in trying to block diplomatic recognition of Macedonia and attempting to basically hold a nation hostage over their ****ing name, and then playing this name game show how much of a damn pitiful non entity they are outside of their own damn fantasy world.

We in America don't ***** about Mexico stealing the name of one of our states...

I have no bone in this issue - I have never been to Macedonia - just struck me as pitiful as **** behavior which is why it warranted a topic (as does hanging witches and whipping rape victims) I had no idea this would become fly paper for stupid.

shame on them! At least is good to know that there are people who dont buy nor care about greek story

just for information greeks claim that FYROM(Republic of Macedonia) has terotorial pretension,with army that counts 8000soldiers 25tanks 15helicopters and so on...just imagine our army attacking greek army from 240000soldiers....
and yes with 8000soldiers we have 120in Afgan 80 in Iraq 20 in Bosnia.....

Here is the fYrom PM :check the red map above, is their Macedonia which must be libarated from Greece. its a major threat to greece.

Greece is vastly supporting FYROM's economy by being one of the largest foreign direct investors. Tenths of thousands of jobs are the result of that.

The identity change is not something new .
One way or another people acquire new identity . Scandinavian Ros become Russian , some Germans became known as Prussians ,who were actually Balts and so on . Greece should accept it or at least push for a solution .

macedonian PM is putting flower on Goce Delcev`s grave,he is macedonian hero who once said: I understand the world as field for competition in culture between nations. and the picture of Great Macedonia was putted there by bulgarian activist of VMRO BND...VMRO BND is part of bulgarian propaganda that claims that word MACEDONIAN means occuped bulgarian....so according their history we are bulgarians,and yes ALexander THe Great is bulgarian too...no greek reaction about that,afraid again.......

It might look childish to you because you are an outsider and you feel comfortable to line up with another mistaken choice Bush is making, a little before he leaves office.
It is not childish to me at all though, that I'm from the inside, in fact the hypocricy displayed by some in order to pull a fast one as I already told you is very offensive.

We never threaten them with genocide, you have to look for some other kind of people who do things like that.

You might have to change your maps in the future....

The shoe fits really well. It is a damn pathetic issue. That for over a decade Greece has *****ed and moaned to anyone unfortunate enough to be within ear shot, shows how petty the Greek government is.

Join the 21st century, drop it and move on.

Blocking NATO growth because of some pathetic issue is a damn joke.

And once again FYRM has the word Macedonia in it and no one will actually say FYRM thus, you are basically opening the door to people shortening it to Macedonia.

Genocide on macedonians in Greece is already done....in every city we have ghetos where live people whom we call Aegeans...the reason for that is simple,they came from greek province Macedonia...they left their land houses everything they got! Maybe they didnt like the climate there,signs of global warming

No they just wanted to save their lifes:(Those who stayed there changed their names and used macedonian language secretly at home!

I misunderstood what he had said, he didn't call for genocide just called on people to keep whining or else they would disappear from the earth themselves or turn into pumpkins.
