Just curious if anyone refutes the fact that the US is the most powerful. If you do disagree please state your reasons.

No need to hold your breath, i doubt anyone would say that. Except this Korean kid who was in a security studies unit i did last year who reckoned the US didn't have the guts to go near NK because they would wipe the US of the map

Needless to say he grew up too close to the propaganda loudspeaker in his village.

There is more than one kind of power.

Physically, the US is the mohammed ali of the world.

When it comes to willpower, the US is only middle of the pack, as all democracies are.

    Veni vidi vici,
You should have chosen a more debatable topic. The US is a global power economically and militarily. . Even in entertainment Hollywood and MTv and Playboy.

If you want I'll disagree with you, you guys don't know how to make good scotch. Never had any popular US brands in India, and you still call yourself a superpower .

    Cheers!...on the rocks!!

When the US's credo is :

    'VENI, VIDI, VICI',

    then others can only say:

'They (the US) came, they saw and I conked out!'

But fantastic is so subjective. I'm sure the terrorist think were fantastic target practice.

"'m sure the terrorist think were fantastic target practice."

    I highly doubt that.

It is much more likely they view fighting US troops as a expedient way to meet Allah with 'honor'.

See snipy, we should have women in the army. If you kill 'm then they go to heaven and have perpetual sex and food. If a women kills 'm they go to hell. Also, who needs 72 virgins?

I am pretty friendly with a Thai Major General(female) that has observed that Muslim men find it extremely dishonorable to be killed by women.

    LOL.

OMG....that's right! That would be an important key to this terrorism/insurgent crisis. The media could make a field day out of it on Al Jazeera:

"The US sends 10,000 women marines to secure and protect the elections to be held in January in Iraq." We could win a war by mere psychological propoganda.
