And there's no way to speak of the 'United States of Europe'. Europe did not want to appear inspired by the USA when they choose the name of their cooperation. The actual name of the organization is 'European Union'. The economy has already been strenghten but the union bewteen the European member states and the military is just beginning to be organized according to European goals and institutions. The creation a few months ago of the European Defense Agency and the development of the European Rapid Reaction Force are proofs that European defense is ongoing.
Why not sstart educating kids in Esperanto??? I meant it is a collection of several european languages, why not utilize it. I mean look at medieval europe, the governments and people generally spoke disparate languages, even within a nation state there were several dialects. Nonetheless, the clergy and later on the learned men of these countries enabled internation communication by one language : Medieval Latin. Therefore I am asserting that it is perhaps not necessary immediately for all Europeans to speak the same language but those who are in charge, both politically and militarily to create or adopt a language of the EU, even if it makes something foreign to the masses, its a necessary evil. But it is also a defended evil since, each member country has some degree of autonomy and can assure and safeguard people's rights against EU infringement, no?

Each state is still its own master when it comes to language and education, yes.
The idea of Esperanto is a good one if the other languages are not sacrified to it...or it would mean less cultural diversity. The only pb may be that, if only the elites are speaking esperanto, the European Union would appear as something foreign to Europeans, as a technocratic institution. I'm not sure it does need this kind of image...But later, yes, Esperanto would be perfect.

There is such a thing as too much cultural diversity. You do need some common ground, otherwise forming an effective state would be impossible.

No problem here. Plus, if everyone in Europe learns Esperanto and neglects English, then that leaves the UK and Ireland free to smoozze the rest of the Anglosphere.
