Roger that Bluesman.
I look forward to discussing a wide range of topics with ya in person.

Sniper, do you really think men in the US have it any harder than women?
And true, I'd imagine most soldiers would prefer to avoid a knife-fight if they could. I've seen them myself and they aren't pleasant.
"Sniper, do you really think men in the US have it any harder than women?"
I never said that they did.
You were comparing third world women to US women and saying that they were better able to fight because of the harsh nature of their lives (Which is true) but couldn't you make exaclty the same comparison about third world men and US men?

US men spend very little time in beauty spas getting manicures, facials, and fake tans.
But yes, as a general rule 3d world men will endure more hardship then 1st world men. They're just more used to it.
Women insurgents and guerrillas are not the same as foot infantry humping ground to outmanouver the enemy. Most of the time when women excel in combat was due to the fact that they were on the defensive and were not hauling loads of ammo and running cover to cover. They sat where they were and they shot.
There were no women assualt troops at Khe Sanh nor at Diem Bien Phu.
Chimo
Colonel,
In Nepal, they have women guerillas in the Maoist rebellion under way.
Indian history has many Queens who lead their Army into battle.
I don't doubt those, Sir. However, I'm pointing out that good women guerrillas do not make good infantry. Guerrilla warfare, by its very nature, is not conventional warfare.Originally Posted by Ray

Look I agree with some points with all of you. However, I do feel there are some important positions in the military women can be successful (other than typing Snipe), but some places, and circumstances, it is better women do not go. It seems that the scenarios ones are describing here were different in that women did exceptional under certain circumstances, and some did not... hey we're all human. I hear today of men making up stories, and shooting themselves to defect from Iraq, or going back to Iraq, and these too are reasons why certain men shouldn't be in the military.
I admit to never having served in the military since my career choices took me elsewhere, but it doesn't take a Master's Degree to know you have to be psychologically prepared, as well as physically, to soldier in any war. Some women, as well as men, are not qualified to fight in the military.
True, but some women are, which is my point.
Point well taken. I recall the movie "G.I. Jane." Does anyone else?![]()
I recall it was fiction...
