North Korea "Styx" two fingers up at the US?

BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | US warns N Korea on missile tests

45 year old missiles. Is that the best anti-ship stuff they've got?

The Kim family should be executed in public. North Korea is one of the most backward fascist countries around.

My high school math teacher traveled to NK several years ago. He put it this way: "NK is what China was like in the cultural revolution, plus the starvation in the great leap forward".
Tibet might be faraway, but it's ours

I think that missile is ok for anti ship role, unless they are facing the USN.
nothing can stand up to the USN defence, haven't you heard, they are magical.

Not worth it, all that does is create a power gap for another kim to step into.
Its better to prosecute him for his crimes before he dies so that the world can see how pathetic he truly is. International leaders should be ashamed of even sharing the stage with him.

We all have the blood of several Koreans on our hands, the world should have some kind of rules about such murdering bastards and their dictatorships.

If and when he dies, the N-Koreans should try to adopt the political systems from their brothers next doors, and become one.
    cheers

China sure have a lot blood of koreans on its hands, but it was for our national security at the time, cannot rewrite history.

Actually, NK was not THAT bad before the Soviets fell, NK used to be a lot richer than China, only after the Soviets fell, NK became a living hell and the political system is beyond repair.

From what I heard, the Chinese leaders have been trying to persuade the Kim family to adopt a more open economical system by showing the Kims around Shanghai/ Shenzhen and now any city in China, we want to help them. But the rulers in NK are extremely stubborn and brutal, nothing too positive has come out.

NK is a bomb for all its neighbors

I think China has tried to do a lot with Kim however its hard to do anything with a crazy man in charge of so much power, and the whole world shares the blame.

Money is not the problem i am talking about, with or with out money, NK was always the murdering dictatorship it is today.
    cheers

China was not a lot better in Mao's era. Actually, a lot of Chinese Koreans fled from China to NK in the 60's.

We owe a lot to Deng Xiaoping for sure.

If I remember correctly Styxes were used against Coalition fleets in the 1991 Gulf War without success. One of them was even shot down.

The USN gears up to intercept supersonic screamers like the Granit, Moskit and Yakhont, subsonics are pudding for them probably.

NK was not that bad until the 80's, after the great leap forward, there was a large scale famine in China. Economically, China was better only since the mid-80's.

The border between China and NK was not tightly guarded till at least early this decade, not sure now. Thousands of north koreans have fled to china, they still have relatives in NE china. They are generally well accepted in NE China. There is no refuge camps, they can pretty much get whatever jobs they are capable of.

From time to time, the Chinese government does some lip service, round up several and send them back to NK, but most just stayed.

Styxe seemed to have done well in some situations and horribly wrong in other situations, there must be something about it.

I know USN is a navy with lots of magic. Nothing can get to them.

If you can shoot down a jet aircraft, you can shoot down a styx, no magic required. We save that for the ICBMs and low flying satellites that are a threat to civilians

As for the Kims, I refuse to take the blame for their existance. I seem to remember the US Army marching toward the Yalu and some 2 million PRC soldiers popping up and preventing final victory. He is all yours PRC, now that the Soviets are gone. Let his actions be on your head, not that I see much you could do now that would not probably kill tens of thousands if not millions of people.

At least your illegals don't receive free education in their native language, demand drivers licenses, demand free health care, demand resident rates on college tuitions, and then periodically gather in large numbers, waving the flags of their home country, yelling "si se puede" while denouncing their hosts for violating their "rights."

Well, from time to time, some NK refuges would put up a show and rush into some western embassies in Beijing or Shenyang and DEMAND to be sent to South Korea... Now, that's embarrassing to Chinese government, because China doesn't admit the very existence of the NK refuges (they are indeed, illegal immigrants).

Most of the times, those bastards are with the help of some western "journalists" or NGO members, so the guards of the embassies cannot rough them up.

I say, send those trouble makers back to NK!
