Okay, if you want to deliberately swing wide of my point, then I guess I could give you that one. Allow me to redefine "the Swamp" as all nations in that part of the world that are oppressive Muslim and/or Arab and/or Persian and/or Military Dictatorships. i.e. that places from which the majority of Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorism is sourced.

Quote:
Berside, Iraq did not have WMD, nor did it have Alqaeda connection.
I never mentioned WMD. And it most certainly had AQ connections. Shek has recently detailed these quite well in either this or another thread on the WAB.

Quote:
Let me get this straight, an "Islamic Republic of Iraq" where the laws are going to be based on "rules of Islam" is democracy for you?
It sure could be. Why not? The language states that Islam must be "a" basic source of legislation, not "the" basic source.

Quote:
That could only mean two things, either you don't knoew the definition of democracy, or you do not understand the implication of an Islamic Republic run under Islamic Laws.
Or it could mean that you have misinterpreted the basic syntax right before your eyes. Ya done effed up, laddie. Admit it and move on.

Quote:
Democracy and Islamic nation run under laws based on Islamic Rules DO NOT MIX.

You can't have both. And as per the NEW constitution of Iraq, in case of contradictions, Islamic rules takes precedence.

Unfortunetly pretty much every single Islamic Rule is in contradiction with democratic princliples.
Remains to be seen. I am more optimistic, although I certainly would have preferred a more secular basis.

A more than 3 fold increase in crude prices can not be wholly attributed to China.

This continuing war in Iraq which is now in the 3rd year, has definite impact on the oil prices.

Only an intellectually dishonest person would deny that.
I agree it has probably had something to do with it. But China has probably had more.

Quote:
Have you been following the political developments lately?
In Iraq? Umm, yeah, I have. Kinda why I hang out in this forum and yak with those as well and more informed than I am.

Quote:
You have no clue. SCIRI (Supreme council of Islamic Revolution in Iraq), one of the main party in Shia coaliation is pro-Iran party.

Iran is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) benificiary of Iraq war.
Only as long as Iraq is not relatively stable. In the medium to long term they will be the losers, which is why they are investing and risking so much right now to foment instability.

For all you Bush lovers..if he is so great, why is he the MOST hated man on earth? A poll was taken in europe on who europeans think is the biggest threat to world security. The choices on the poll were Bush, Saddam and OBL. Bush won by a huge margin.

thats right man, and he is staying in iraq for no reason, he got what he wanted= sadaam hussein, and now hes jus killin soldiers and innocent civilians, even republicans have recently said we should come home, thats showin that bush is losing lotz of support, and gas is goin to get way above 4 dollars, and this has a lot to do with bush and his support for the oil manufacturers, bush should jus bring our troops home and save many lives, that would help his cause a lot, but still wouldnt get most of the american ppl that hate him on his side, and as for sayin hes a bad president, thats in the constitution that u can have freedom of speech, so if i wanna say bush is a loser and is hurting this country more than any president in the history of america i can, and i feel that way, inflation is the worst its been in years, he is jus hurtin america, so next time u wanna go and say nobady can have a opinion- whoever it is that started this topic- think again, because america is the land of freedom, we can say what we want, thats whats great about america

Stop listening to Air America - he wasn't golfing, no matter how hard Randi Rhodes wishes it were true.

And how, exactly, is the President responsible for the price of gasoline?

How, for that matter, is Bush responsible for the hurricane? As if he or any other human has control over it.

Wow. That was probably the least intelligent comment I've heard in a long time. The stupidity of some of these people amazes me.
