China's new destroyers feature Aegis tech copied from U.S.

China's new destroyers feature Aegis tech copied from U.S.

China's military put its new guided missile destroyers on display last week, disclosing its two new warships that are equipped with Aegis-type battle management systems.

Two new Luyang II guided missile destroyers are part of China's naval builduup.

The two Luyang II guided missile destroyers are Beijing's first Aegis-type ships. The ships are currently undergoing sea trials.
U.S. intelligence officials say China stole the technology for the Aegis battle management system by setting up a front company in the United States that became a subcontractor for the Aegis system manufacturer.

The Chinese also showed two other new guided missile destroyers, known as Luyang I.
Both types of destroyers are equipped with Russian military equipment and weapons, including missiles, as well as indigenous Chinese anti-ship missiles.

The four warships are part of China's military buildup that U.S. officials say is designed for more than just a Taiwan conflict. The Chinese are building a deep-water navy able to project power, especially against the United States.

EDIT: Good thing we have the Gov. doing backround checks to stop such things from happening.

You don't really think China is busy buying up western IT companies like IBM because it wants to produce consumer products do you lol, it is more likely doing so to steal the underlying technology. actually it doesn't have to steal anything, western companies are falling over each other to build manufacturing plants in China for hi tech goodies, when the **** hits the fan and China decides to exert itself, it has all the production capacity it needs to match the west, all paid for thanks to the gullible and greedly western companies and their shareholders, and PC governments who can only see dollar signs from the expected trade. China only trades long enough to steal the tech involved, then manufactures cheap copies and floods the market.

Here is some information on new Chinese cruise missile
Quote:
Potential cruise missile test-launched in China
By Robert Hewson

Amid continuing reports of several developmental cruise missile programmes in China, new evidence has emerged of a previously unknown long-range tactical missile system.

A photograph showing the test launch of what is assessed as a new anti-ship missile has been released via the Chinese internet - a process that is becoming almost routine for the public disclosure of Chinese defence equipment.

Except in its most basic aerodynamic configuration, the new missile bears little resemblance to any current Chinese weapon, although it may be an extremely evolved development of an existing system. The design has been optimised for shipboard canister launch. One clue to this is found in other images from Chinese sources that show the missile undergoing rocket sled tests with its rear fins folded. This design approach would also be suited to any potential land-based variant.
