Schools
Not too sure where to put this. Mods can move it to somewhere more appropriate, perhaps.
Letter by a Florida teacher............... A teacher speaks This is a subject close to my heart. Do you know that we have adult students at the school where I teach who are not US citizens and who get the PELL grant, which is a federal grant (no pay back required) plus other federal grants to go to school? One student from the Dominican Republic told me that she didn't want me to find a job for her after she finished my program, because she was getting housing from our housing department and she was gettin g PELL grant which paid for her total tuition and books, plus money left over. She was looking into WAIT which gives students a CREDIT CARD for gas to come to school, and into CARIBE which is a special program (check it out - I did) for immigrants and it pays for child care and all sorts of needs while they go to school or training. The one student I just mentioned told me she was not going to be a US Citizen because she plans to return to the Dominican Republic someday and that she "loves HER country." I asked her if she felt guilty taking what the US is giving her and then not even bothering to become a citizen and she told me that it doesn' t bother her, because that is what the money is there for! I asked the CARIBE administration about their program and if you ARE a US Citizen, you don't qualify for their program. And all the while, I am working a full day, my son-in-law works more than 60 hours a week, and everyone in my family works and pays for our education. Something is wrong here. I am sorry but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Spanish - enough is enough. Nowhere did they sing it in Italian, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of immigration. It was written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for word the way it was written. The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close.Sorry if this offends anyone but this is MY COUNTRY. I am not against immigration -- just come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and GOD BLESS AMERICA !

Anyone that goes to another country needs to be in that country because they want to be, not because they can get free education, or be treated differently because they are not citizens of that country. So many jobs are given to green card holders and yet there are U.S. citizens that can't get a job. True, I'm sure some of the jobs that the green card holders have might not be jobs that someone else would want, but it's still a job! And I really can't stand it when a family comes in to the school and the first thing they ask, in broken english is, "Do you speak Spanish?". I look them square in the eyes and say "NO". And then I just stand there and wait for them to try and continue a conversation in English or have them ask me to get a translator. Then I take my sweet time in getting someone to translate for them! ![]() Oh jeez, I'm ranting because it really irritates the sh*t out of me when I read crap like this!!!! ![]()

Welcome to the "new" (and so called better) America.
The US is at a crossroads; we can continue to delude ourselves with "a nation of immigrants" and the melting pot crap while we ignore the negative aspects of unregulated immigration/massive illegal immigration and eventually end up like a gigantic Bosnia where everyone is spilt up into little nations based on ethnicity or we can say "NO MAS" and shut down the borders and reduce immigration to less then 25,000 per year and prospective immigrants must pass an English competency exam and have an/the equivalent of a associates degree so that our children and grandchildren can enjoy the same America that we enjoyed. |

I am shocked! Shocked and apalled. How can you be so cruel and heartless as to deny entitlements to "migrant" workers. They have a right to education and health care. Afterall, they clean your toilets, care for your kids, and do all sorts of menial jobs that Americans don't want to do. The least we can do is provide them with driver's licenses, free health care, adequate housing, education in their native language, and respect their culture by adopting ourselves to them.
How's my *insert democrat's name* impersonation? ![]()

Anything else is racist or silly - regardless a pro-amnesty candidate will win this year despite the population being against it. The oligarchy knows best, so forget cutting back on illegals. Both parties are in league on this issue. It is a dead issue.

And in a quarter of a century:
![]() Actually its already here; these 4 pictures were taken at Montebello High School in Montebello, California on March 27th 2006 also known as "Black Monday" when 100,000+ Los Angeles area school kids of Hispanic descent walked out of their classes and led marches and protests against the federal government and the rule of law. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The 2006 "immigration reform" protests were nothing less then a revolution against the US government. |

See how free this country really is? Public school students are allowed to protest against the government that provides them education. I hope they keep boycotting school. We don't need more educated people competing with me for a job. I need people to flip my burger and mow my lawn.
