Adu, if you are a guy from France, OK, girlfriend and wife-to-be are two different conceptions. But, you are an Indian and an Asian! India, China and some other Asian countries have their tradition about it. How could you date with a Chinese girl just for the sake of date?

I hope she wasnt hurt by you and thus married another guy. Too bad. And did you ever tell the Chinese girl clearly that you never planned to marry her? Did you kiss her? If you never told her but kissed her, forgive me for saying this for that girl:小化生子, 增想嗲块烂皮砖,整你娃孬壳高头! (very hard to translate. but I promise no dirty words at all)
Fiona,

India has changed from the good old days.

The Hindi films have totally flipped Indian tradition upside down.

I don't how if it is for the good or bad.

Believe it or not, Living In is also ''in''. This is because girls are these days working and living in different cities than their parents and family and so they like to be ''fashionable''! It also saves on the money spent on rent and food!

Sigh...B'wana, sometimes India and China are quite similar!!

Anyway, I think I am more traditional than fashionable

i still remember the idiotic lengths people used to go to in order to preserve their culture for being erased.
When i used to live with my aunt in india and i used to wear socks with my shoes the common insult was i was a snob.
When my mum(when she was a teenager) wore jeans (in the 70's) it was thought to be rebellious
