The hauliers in the UK have been battered somewhat by the socialist government via taxation of one form or another in the past few years. I wuld like to suggest another tax - tax on how many imported drivers they employ.

Approx 75% of the HGV hauliers in the UK now are of foreign extraction and are being paid well below what was the norm. They are also, in the main, unqualified, many arriving with the equivalent of the HGV3 licence, but driving HGV1 articulates. Are Police turning a blind eye? Who is issueing these unqualified drivers with paperwork?

The cost of hauling has therefore been drastically reduced whilst "home grown" lorry drivers are on the scrap heap; priced out by these Polish drivers and others.

A company that is used by my current employee has just sacked 19 drivers but continues to run in, with foreign drivers.

Are these savings being passed onto the consumer - not on your life! Also, the government is sending billions of pounds a year into Polish (and other) homes in child benefit and other family subsidies for families who will never even see the UK, let alone get citizenship.
