The last time I checked, "Muslim" wasn't a race, but a religion. How can they then yell "racisits!"?
I repsect the religious practices of others, as long as it doesn't impact too heavily on the lives of my family & I. When we invite my "American-citizens who immigrated to the US from Iraq & who happen to be Muslim" acquaintenances (affectionately referred to as "friends!") over for dinner, we usually serve fish as a main course. This is not an impact to us, as we like like to eat fish as well. They don't "demand" that we not eat pork, any more than we don't demand that they do. To do so would be very rude. We all repsect each other enough not to be "rude" to each other, or take advantage of each other, as I feel these students are trying to do to the University. & until now, I didn't know how "western" Osama's niece could be. Thanks for the pics! (Oh, come on. She's not so hard on the eyes, is she?) ![]()

While it is a noble thought to allow all to do what one wants to do, but too much of community or sub nationalism generation can explode in the face. From what I have read of posts by the Turkish poster is that the idea of all communities being of Turks is paramount and is what is propagated. That is the ideal. But as soon division in religious norms or community feeling or sub nationalism in common areas is allowed to flourish, pop goes the bubble! The Kurd problem is a case in point.
