The "Skippy Chicks" on the other hand, are for oggling at and sowing the odd wild oat if they can catch a dumb one. Osama's niece is OK but I imagine a family picnic would be rather awkward. What would you talk about?,,,So Uncle, how's business, got running water in the cave yet? I prefer blondes thanks. Cheers. |

and you are taking these nuts in serious?...
does anybody here know what is the first order of Kuran-i Kerim? it is : "Read!" this reading can be interpreted as education. In real Islam any prayer is more important than education. for exemple Albert Einstein was more Muslim and eligible than me or Mr. Pasteur or Mr. Edison, because of their reachings and their additions to the whole humanity...so for me Islam imperatively orders to advancing and evolving, still insisting to stay at 10th century or so is one of biggest sin... we as Muslims must get over of this formalism and get to the work for our own sake. real belief is in the hearts not in the prayers... i am against to this "prayer time" at the universities asked by some so-called Muslims, nothing more important than education and progress... regards Kerem

I understand what you are saying but the Muslim students and others that are pushing the envelope in our society have a vastly different attitude and demeanor than you. A casual look at their chat forums will tell you that. Some of it is our fault as well because we have bent over backwards for too long to accomodate their sensibilities and I think that has indicated to them a weakness in our culture that can be exploited to be subservient to their view, that Islam is supreme and therefore entitled. Our Universities and government should have also made it much clearer from the outset that our society is secular and religion of any type plays no part in the governence of the Universities unless perhaps it is a seminary. Old pertinent saying; When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Cheers. |

While (as far as I know) my college does not allow Muslim students out of class to pray, the college does have a little prayer area set aside for them in a very public spot so we are basically forced to see them if we should have class/have a need to go in that particular building. One of their prayer times happens to coincide with "common hour" (when there are no classes and is used for lunch breaks, professor office meetings, clubs, etc). They also get special privileges in gym class where they dont have to change into wear gym clothing like the rest of us.

I wonder if that should be acceptable. That is, having separate systrems for separate religions in a secular country.
It only divides the people into segments and that leads to problems for the general society.
