But for the most part, I admire and respect him. His comments are usually VERY insightful, and he does not fall back from controversy.

That right there is my objection to him. I am as forgiving to him about his dependency as he has been to others.

Not a bad writer though, I've read a couple of his pre-pill popping books and they were pretty insightful.

I know, right? He's got a great way of seeing to the meat of the matter, and although sometimes his bombast is off-putting, I give him MAD propz for just being OUT FRONT with what many people in his influential strata don't have the guts to say.

I see a lot of the human faults in him that he gleefully points out in others: big appetites, self-importance and possibly even cruelty. BUT...I like his take on the issues, and his personality and personal life doesn't interest me nearly as much as that big brain of his.
