exchange of fire between Indian and Bangladeshi border
MALDA: A boy was killed and a jawan injured on Tuesday following an exchange of fire between BSF and Bangladesh Rifles at the Indo-Bangla border village of Gobindapur Akhra in South Dinajpur. The firing began around 9 am and continued for nearly three hours.
While patrolling in the morning, BSF jawans of Gobindapur border outpost found some goons carrying bags of fertilisers to the other side of the border. On being challenged, the goons started throwing bombs at the jawans. When the BSF jawans opened fire, BDR retaliated. The miscreants then took away a jawan, Omprakash Yadav, across the border to Bangladesh. Seeing that, kids, playing around, started shouting. In the firing that followed, 14-year-old Tinku Roy, an Indian, was shot in the shoulder and hospitalised. Later, he succumbed to his injuries. BSF jawan Tarun Das was admitted to a hospital in Hili after being shot in the leg. Sources claimed more than 100 rounds were fired. A huge BSF force gathered at the border with the commandant of 28 Battalion along with deputy inspector-general P S Tomar of BSF's Malda range. BDR initially turned down BSF's request for a flag meeting. Although firing stopped, tension prevailed in the area. Tronic was referring to those illegal Bangladeshis who come to India for jobs and to take land.
To be honest with you, I don't have a thing against illegal immigrants as long as they obey the law of the land they are in and do not bring Sharia crap or vote bank politics. Free mobility and trade is essential to a healthy market. |

I know I am gonna get wingbats thrown at me but I really don't think that sending 12 million illegals in USA back to mexico is gonna work. It will end up hurting USA more. I mean, who is gonna know who's an illegal immigrant. The policies and actions necessary to find out which is one will end up costing us way more than we would like such as loss of liberties and ending up more like a police state. We would essentially lose free enterprise which is the cornerstone of USA's economic strength. |
