Man Arrested for Digging Holes in Bike Trail

Just the visual of this is kinda funny in an SNL way. Yes, I know dangerous as I was once thrown over the handlebars of my bike as a kid...but funny.

Quote:
FULLERTON, California — Police said they arrested a man who acknowledged digging holes on a park bicycle trail in southern California as payback for nearly being run down by a cyclist.

Warren John Wilson, 52, faces a single felony count of vandalism, police Sgt. Linda King said Friday.

King said nearly 50 holes measuring about 1 foot by 2 feet (30 centimeters by 60 centimeters) have been found since June along a trail at Laguna Lake Park, and in some cases attempts had been made to hide them from cyclists. She said some riders went over their handlebars after hitting the holes, but none reported major injuries.

Detectives watching the trails questioned Wilson, who said he had nearly been run over by a mountain bike rider and began digging the holes in retaliation, King said.

Police said Wilson had been released from custody. A phone listing for him could not be found.

He is making the roads safe for drivers everywhere - many of those bikers ride in the middle of the street out here slowing traffic, makes you want to open up your door as you pass them...

Same thing here ... not only do they ride in the middle of the street (and in some cases in the middle of a major highway or road) but they totally ignore the vehicles on the road and act as if we are not there.

Out here there are two types - lower income people with no other form of transportation and those who wear funny spandex - the lower income bike riders stay as close to the curb as possible. The spandex crowd rides in the highways/parkways with 50mph traffic in the middle of the lane.

Should be legal on fashion ground alone to run over someone wearing spandex...

Agreed ------- Normally, never so much has been tried to be stuffed into so little. I've seen women try to stuff their cow-like bodies into spandex that, well let me just say I didn't know a material could stretch like that.

The worst though is men wearing spandex, gawd never has so little been shown off in such tightness. Or never has so much mis-shapeness ever been allowed to be shown. Men in spandex are NOT a turn - on.

You said it. We have some moron bicyclists here who ride two abreast and the guy on the left is usually riding on the line seperating the bike lane and the car lane. Drivers have to slow down and hug the leftside of the lane just in case something happens.

I hate inconsiderate people

Now put them on a bike in the middle of your lane.

Do that on a one land road through the hills at 45mph. I have had near hits from my passenger side mirror - and of course they flick me off. Ever had a goof ball with spandex on a bicycle pull a knife on you uphill with a 40mph speed limit?

====
The guy digging the holes should have saved himself the time and put fishing line across the bike path...

If I was only in charge for one day.
