Some posters on Pakistani forums are actually happy/relieved at having got rid of the corrupt politician who was an American agent.

Very sad, but not unexpected.

The powder keg may just have been lit.

Has Pakistan ever been normal since Independence?

Hardly a surprise.

I'm sure they would have been happy to have pulled the trigger themselves.

There was no "interpretation" required when Zia-ul Haq (Punjabi) killed an immensely more popular ZA Bhutto (Sindhi). Didn't happen then, and not likely to happen now.
The Pakistani Army doesn't share your optimism it seems; it is blocking traffic between Sindh and Punjab, to prevent just that:

Police said they had been ordered to block the main road between Punjab province and Sindh province, apparently to stop the movement of protesters... "The situation is not good in the interior of Sindh. A large number of people have come out on the roads in many cities to protest," said senior police official Fayyaz Leghari.

It will be a big list for sure!

For a police investigator, when a wife is murdered the husband becomes the prime suspect (oh, we have a corrupt and debauched husband scared sh!tless of being offered up as a sacrificial lamb to ease her re-entry into Pakistani politics); when a politician is murdered the opposition becomes the prime suspect (Sindh had been basically promised to the Mohajirs' party under Gen Musharraf, now it is unclear); when a feudal chieftain is murdered the vassals become suspect (Sindh is very much a feudal povince outside the cities); when a national leader is murdered the enemies of the nation become suspect (Pakistan has no lacking of enemies); when a democrat is murdered the autocrats become the suspects (a military junta rules Pakistan). Benazir Bhutto was all of these, so take your pick.

American agents...comments like that make me laugh.
I guess that there is no one out there that seeks freedom and democracy but us Americans. And anybody who does must be in with the dreaded Americans, Small world thinking for small world minds.

And in fact Pakistan has the nuclear weapon. What to happen, if there will be a civil war? Americans, you worry around of the mythical nuclear weapon of Iran, but it seems to me, here more dangerous problem.

R.I.P to Benazir Bhutto. She was one of the bravest politicians ever. She was in a country where the first day she stepped in, was a target of a failed suicide attempt. And she did not run away and go into exile.

The topic I was discussing in another thread (in the south asian section) if Pakistan's President can be overthrown and the nukes fall into the wrong hands, I hope this is not the start of it. As we've seen, you cannot prevent an assassination attempt. I hope the police and army get down to it and find out exactly who was responsible.
