PowerPunch, did it ever occur to you that we have more crime because we have more people?

Australia is not exactly a crime free paradise either ...

What wrong with people in US? Are they slowly loosing their mind? IF they want to kill themselves let them do it, but why innocent people who have not harmed these crazy people in anyway.
Can anyone please explain the amount of crazyness that happens everyday in only one country in the world - USA
Something is really wrong with this country- killing, spreading hatred, racism, child molestation, rape etc... Just being a rich nation, advanced nation and world power does not make it Great,it should devise a way to treat its people who are slowly going crazy.

Notice Bush was there that same day.

Then something suspicious happens at a Carolina mall, in which a women ends up dead a vehicle overturned. I also notice, even after the Virgina tech shootings a chain reaction of events occur that looks to be spotty media coverages and portrayed as a accident. I always wondered if there were to be terrorist attacks, would we know about it, or would it be covered up and portrayed as domestic alone individual as opposed to a wider conspiracy. And such, if there were to be a conspiracy certainly there would be the likelihood of another similar incident happening right afterwards. Hence similar events happening afterwards. There never seems to be casualties afterwards though, on the second chain reaction of events.

Wow, that says a lot. Usually you hear the neighbors say "oh he was quiet and kept to himself...."

The only reason you here about these things is because they are so rare in America! If everytime someone was shot, killed, raped ...etc... in countries like Uganda, Libya, China and Iran there was full national media coverage telling you about it we would come up one out of thousands of stories. If you honestly think that America is the country with the most of all these crimes than you are seriously misinformed.

Firstly, Condolences to the families of those wounded and dead, I hope the wounded pull through and the dead are well remembered.

On Guns, it's a pointless issue to debate, everyone knows where everyone else stands, might it be good to leave it at that ?

ChrisF202, I never denied that OZZ is free of crime but atleast we have gun control after the "Port Arthur" incident and also never happy with the crimes that are commited here or for that matter any where in the world in any form. Anyways there is no point in continuing this topic as most of members either think that killing is ok, or justifying the killing or take pride is telling how to shoot a person who is hiding behind a wall. But I for one will always oppose.

I hope this topic ends here and one last word for dalem, language or grammer has got nothing to do with expressing one's view/opinion (wonder whats u r educational background is?)

No, you are putting words in our mouths.

We do not think killing is OK. We don't take pride in killing.

However we believe in self reliance. There will always be bad guys. Bad guys can always have access to guns because they are bad. Why rely on the police and the justice system, which is always an after-the-fact mechanism to deal with crime?

What does the police really do? They are here to enforce the law. They aren't here to protect you or to prevent a crime from happening. They have no obligation to do that. It's up to you to protect your family and to prevent a crime against your family from happening.

Guns are tools. They aren't evil or good. People are evil and good. Some people are also physically bigger and more imposing than others. If a guy with a baseball bat enters my house without permission, I have no way of dealing with him without help. I need a gun.

God made men. Sam Colt made them equals.

And your proud of gun control?

Well, here in America that is a INALIENABLE RIGHT being that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon". Its very simple.

There are also many cases of armed citizens stopping criminals ... look at the Smith County Courthouse shooting in Texas where an armed citizen with a CCW permit engaged a lunatic that killed his ex wife long enough and gave his own life to buy time for the sheriff's deputies guarding the courthouse to get their rifles and go after the guy.
