Flight path stains irk Wis. residents
The Associated Press Article Last Updated: 11/18/2007 07:31:21 PM CST TOWN OF MENASHA, Wis.—Something unsavory is staining siding, sidewalks and patios here, and residents suspect it's something in the air. Authorities got reports last week of many spots and clumps found along a flight path for the Outagamie County Regional Airport in nearby Greenville, said police Lt. Mike Krueger. "It looks like somebody released the holding tank for their septic and that fluid was dropped through that section of neighborhood, and it stains," Krueger said. Said resident Kate McQuillan: "Something definitely got sprayed all over." An airport official and an airline representative visited the scene but "denied it was one of their planes" that caused the problems, Krueger said.

I thought the whole "taking a dump mid flight" thing was a myth - that everythink is held in tanks that have to be pumped empty by ground based tankers?
Now, something could, of course, be leaking .... nice. People who live under flightpaths do often complain about 'planes jettisoning fuel though, apparently that plays havoc with car paintwork. |

I always wondered why S. Korea smelled so bad! Must have been the flight path over Osan AB. Or the bad sewer system!
