You can download it too, sir.(Presuming you have XP SP2)
I just got mine preinstalled in Vista.

In looks, its hardly different from IE7, but has a modified engine for better speed.
Its two main features are - Accelerators and InPrivate browsing...about which Microsoft says...."Now you can shop for that special gift with confidence knowing your family won't accidentally find out or use a shared computer without leaving a trace."

I made the jump to FireFox a few months ago. Generally speaking I like it and I really like the idea of having something less vulnerable to all the crap out there (my recent problems not withstanding).

On the other hand, my AOL webmail gets pictures blocked quite a bit by FF. IE7 has no problem with them.

    Any thoughts?

Firefox ever since I got it. Rarely given me any problems.

    Hate Firefox.
IE8 seems to have many bugs. I've had it keep popping up hundreds of windows at the same time, until finally I have had to click the restart button.

Yup Firefox also the browser I use the most. Find IE seems to get hacked the most out of the browsers.

Do you have any add-ons like adblock installed?

Hey, looks do matter. Other than that, google XSS (Cross Site Scripting), and then NoScript plugin. Lots of ther plugins like Ad Block Plus and Flashget are supported. Security wise too, FF is the best.

FF is quite fast, and if you have 2GB DDR2, it doesn't matter, unless some heavy application like Photoshop PS3, or Visual Studio 2008 is running.

    I see that you have opened Mininova.....Pirate !! )

I like Firefox until I try to watch a video that comes up blank. People just don't want to get off IE.

Do you have Adobe Flash Player installed, if not then go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7 and get it.

Also, if you have NoScript or AdBlock Plus, set security settings for them to allow flash objects.

You can install an add-on called MediaWrap to enable all the flash/in-page-videos on FF.

FF itself is quite mediocre IMHO. It's all the add-ons that make it great. I really am gonna miss FF if I can't solve the problem mentioned at the beginning of the thread. But I really can't do without this website that just appears 'Bad Request' on FF (but fine with all other browsers I've tried).

I'm using Google Chrome right now. Love the browsing speed but actually I am missing FF already.

I can't say much other than what I've already said. After all, I just picked it up yesterday myself. Although it has some shortcomings that I still have to get used to, it's damn fast, I really love the smooth browsing it provides. You may wish to try it yourself, and if you don't like it just uninstall it.

There's not much to it, and thats the point.
It's simple, light, fast and effective. Everything required from a web browser.

    Not that I'm aware of.

Sometimes the pictures show up, mostly they don't. But they always do under IE7

I am almost sure that one of the add-ons is the culprit.

In Firefox, Look at Tools -> Add-ons. You will see all the add-ons installed.
Disable all of them and see if your problem goes away.
If you have the patience and want to identify the culprit selectively enable/disable each one of them.
