Most certainly Rusty. I was there trying to take shots of the Ranger for my grandfather, and since I am a ship lover I decided to take as many pics as my poor little battery would allow. The carriers there were, as you said, Ranger, Independence, along with Constellation (CV-64) and if you look way in the backgound you see USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).

Other notables are the USS Trident (SSN-586), the only US submarine to have two nuclear reactors. The Sprucan I think is USS David Ray. There are various OHP FF's there, but I am unable to identify them. The Knox class FF there is the Knox herself.

Last but not least is the Sacremento and the Camden. I bet you, Rusty, can tell me why they are special.

Go ahead and message me your email and i'll send you a zip file of all my Bremerton pics. FYI, I got married across the bay there and my wife's grandfather worked there for years and years. I think before that he was on the Kitty Hawk.

FFG 14 is the former Sides. I'm betting the one along side her is the former George Philip FFG-12. Both are being transfered to Turkey this summer.

No. This is electric driven. The motor and motor foundation are still there but the pump is missing.

While I'm at it, I might as well throw in a couple of photos of ships that could stand a tad bit of clean up and touch up paint.

Since they had the same machinery plant as an Iowa, I expected steam driven. The Tarawa class LHA's have a huge electric motor driven lube oil service pump instead of steam.

Contracts for the scrapping of Sacramento (AOE-1) and Camden (AOE-2) were awarded to ESCO Marine Inc., Brownsville, TX, in April of 2007.

You'll find some pics of both being dismantled here and there.
