Oh Mr. L. gentlemen like yourself and choice few others I know and have met lately should make no plans for awhile. One gentlemen I know is above 80 years old and when the Navy needs him they go track him down, haul him out of retirement X 2 and bingo he's on the payroll again globetrotting to where ever they need him. They dont regard it as an age condition when it comes to those type of things..its more an experience type of condition. And Im sure your aware of this.

P.S. If Iowa is to be lost and we are offered the chance to inspect/remove anything that could be used by the foundation we serve. You can bet im doing two things...One volunteering and Two i'm on a plane for the West Coast even if its just along for the ride. I would love to step foot aboard her decks once again. The last time seems so long ago.

I posted this one before but it's a really cool shot of the "heel" effect at high speed manuvering. BB61 Iowa during shakedown in Chesapeak Bay MD.
